You disagree with him but think he is great? How do you come to that conclusion?

I don't need to be friends with him for years to see comments he has made in respect to fans who aren't members. The guy also gets exposure for his business in return for the money that he sponsors the club with so he is getting something for the money he puts into the club, the average fan gets nothing but warm and fuzzy feelings when the club is successful which has not been the case for over a decade.

So yes, he is certainly elitist when he is well off and getting something out of the money he gives to the club (it's not even his money per se, it's Brydens as a business,) and lectures the average fan on their worthiness of being recognised by the club based on whether they are willing to become members or not by failing to recognise fans might not be members but might spend several hundred dollars on merchandise and walk up ticket sales.

Sure, any opinion on Lee must be taken with a grain of salt. We don't know him and we don't see much of what he does.

That said, a few of his public announcements (Aloiai, that recent podcast) look downright stupid, and we can only judge on the little we know.

The way he carried himself in regard to TPJ was not a glowing endorsement for his personal line of work. You wouldn't want him mediating a legal matter for you... 😂

Certain aspects of the response were warranted (e.g. decrying leaks in the club but reporting on their own avenues of gossip as hypocrisy,) but asserting that fans who are not members are not worth dealing with what pure elitism on his part. Shows he is out of touch with the general club fan. Take your ambulance chaser logo off the jersey and still tip in.

And yet we have people on here defending him. You have to wonder just how many board members and family members of Lee are on this forum because that is the only way to explain the blatant stupidity of supporting him.

The club was floundering before he arrived, now it's just an out and out embarrassment with him gallivanting(sp) about as chairman.

You asked earlier why some don’t like him.
I am not a fan because I think he accidentally won the premiership in 05, yet failed to recognise this and capitalise upon it. Instead of using the success to leverage better talent to join the squad and elevate the young guns he’d unearthed, he backed in-house development of these juniors which resulted in the lowering of their ceilings. After losing key members of that 05 squad the year after the triumph, they had to be replaced with like for like, if not better. They weren’t. This lack of foresight set us back 5 years and pretty much wasted the best years of Marshall and Farah. When he finally got with the program and brought in external talent, we returned to the finals.
He made crazy decisions roster wise which did not payoff, one of the worst being the attempted development of Morris and Marshall as halfbacks.
His lack of any success since 2011 leads me to believe his time is up yet we are pinning hopes on him to turn around a ship full of disillusioned and low quality talent? I don’t see why this will work.

I find it amusing how easily Bechara could turn the intentions of that comment to gather numbers for his cause - When it was quite clearly directed solely at him.
The point being why should the club, it's board and employees take on board his persistent ramblings and abuse when he's not even a paying customer.

What other Business on the planet would listen to anything someone who purposely provides them no business - And in fact broadcasts to all and sundry for followers to also provide them no business has to say?

Proof? No. Significant improvements yes (here are a few)-
1. Tim Sheens is back in charge of Football Ops.
2. The Board and CEO recognised it needed specialist input (refer 1).
3. As a result of 1 and 2 Maguire departs.
4. The framework is being constructed for the long term - COE, increased funding for football ops, Pathways, Wests HM, Balmain SG Ball, WTs Cubs in NZ, the selection and performances of our youngsters at the Schoolboy carinval, Mattew Betsey, Brett Kimmorley etc
5. New Coach - requirements of position and successful candidate better suited and recruited by Sheens
6. WTs controlling flow of information to the media.
