Maybe we need to look at this as a clean slate , embrace sheens and Benji and Robbie and pray to the havens that it will work , will be interesting to see if we sign any players now the sheens has come out of the closet

Not sure why most are pissed with this Sheen decision..
CC said No and Morris most likely the same so do we hang out for a few more months (which stops recruitment) and hope someone pops up or do we market it as Sheen to sign for 2 years and develop the next HC.. It takes the heat off the club and IF a better option comes up (E.g. Todd P, Ryles, etc) Sheen can act on it and revert back to his role to run the footy side of the business. IMO he wont last the 2 years as I think we will get a coach by then.
He has a great understanding of the players we need to keep and let go and knows the juniors system inside and out.

Would I have liked a CC or Woolfe etc.. YES but this is out best option moving forward now and I also think with Benji joining it helps with recruitment etc..

Anyway just my thoughts but I know all won't agree..

I'm hopeful Sheens can still do the job given that's the direction we're going, but he's not at the same level as Bennett.

IDK TBH but I would assume Sheen will still be involved in the role as he will be going back to it once a coach is found..

Lets be real

Instead of looking ahead and thinking progressively we look and ACT backwards and make a choice that keeps us safe and cozy where nothing changes and where no high expectations will be emphasized from the big wigs at the club for the tenure of Sheens...so another 1-2 years of zero progress.

Paul Kent was 100% right on the comment he made last night, how we - the fans - have not burnt down the doors of the people running this club and demanded better from them is beyond understanding. We are a flaccid bunch.

For what its worth; I think Sheens, if he is legitimately looking to stabilise and mentor a new coach is by far a better option than going with a new younger coach with no or limited first grade NRL experience. I think in the short term his presence, knowledge and standing will stabilise the joint, hopefully settle down players like Pap and lead to other players that have been mooted on here as "watching" until a coach is announced signing. IDK but I think players would rather Sheens than Morris, or Walkers or Woolfe???

I still think it was either incredibly stupid or incredible bad luck (like CC re-nigging on a verbal) that we sacked Maguire without a signed backup....but I can get behind a Sheens mentoring coach role.... not that we have much choice it would seem *shrug*

Agree with pretty much all, as regards not having a back up for Madge at least they were honarable & didn’t recruit behind his back . They possibly could have told
Madge in confidence that he wasn’t required next year & that they were going to make enquiries elsewhere . Knowing Madge , he would of stayed on to finish the year out.

I got to say I disagree with this . The reality is ever since the the big 4 generation we have been treading water with meh first graders . Sure Madge has managed to garner as much out of them , but really , it’s been a dumpster fire for a long time they’ve just kept the lid closed so we could only see the smoke .
