Talaki stuffed up pretty bad aswell…that’s what you get when you massively overhype someone. Wighton at the very least should have been on the bench in place of him
Atleast Stephen Chrichton demanded selection .. and we found out he might just not cut it at this level

Talakai was rubbish. Real Tony Willaims origin moment having him play.
Tupou played well throughout the series.

The energy & speed of the game was epic. 18 mins in & it felt like 30 mins of a regular round game.
With all the bonehead plays by the Blues, starting with Tupou's mishandling of that kick, reassembled an average Tigers game, maybe even worse. Pretty embarrassing.
I give credit to where it's due. The Maroons played with more desire & intensity.

I don't understand what Fred Fittler was thinking. Honestly great game.
Queensland had a stack of big blokes who somehow kept up the physical intensity, though they seemed to tire a little.
NSW, You see Api Koroisau do great at hooker, with no real plan to use Damien Cook but as a rest break for Api... If you put Cook at lock with Api directing the ball as he did we would have seen a runner that Queensland would have struggled with.
Why not pass to Brian T'oo occasionally?
Great game, the two on one with Matt Burton a low point. Sure, have a beef but don't go two on one like a coward.

I said after game 1 that I had a feeling that Origin would be re-invigorated this series. Game 2 was a letdown as it was such a flogging but game 3…was excellent.
NSW have a very skill full squad.
QLD have a squad of tough nuts who are real goers.
Both sides are reasonably young and they don’t particularly like each other.
QLD fogs include some of the games best ever.
NSW need new blood around the coach. Brandy and Mary don’t compare to Thursto and the GOAT, but that said, they have a huge list to pick from.
ORIGIN was the real winner and it’ll be bigger and better in 2023. Can’t wait.
Game 3 was all time aye.
Such an exciting game.
Slater is smart.
He's building a great pack for years to come too.

Fair call, but NSW is without Turbo and Latrell, which is arguably a bigger loss, especially Latrell. We certainly missed him last night.

Great State of Origin game but last night proved the rules aren't the same to a nrl, 2 players throwing punches at 1 player ( doesn't matter who the player's are ) nrl = sent off and a suspension, origin = a fine.

I don't see the point in blaming Freddy and co.
Thurston, Smith, Slater... they just know how to win. Same with 2020- Fittler was out-coached by Bennett- the man who has had the better of almost every other coach.
These guys are just better than anyone else. I can't see any group of players and coaches surpassing how good these 3 or 4 people are.
Listen to their interviews. They obviously know the game inside out but the way they communicate is awesome. They know their target audience, they just know what to say and what to do.
They also know what they're capable of- especially Smith and Slater.
Let's just stop bashing Tupou, Crichton, Freddy etc.. all of them deserved their spots. Just that the other team was better. It happens.

Ad for Joey, I loved watching his saltiness. He CARES!! I found it a little bit weird to see Freddy smiling and laughing at the presser. He was composed which is good though.
