Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Someone posted he was train and trial...but the club's official press release indicated he has a two year NRL contract (which would be absurd)

Reilly has a very strong league pedigree having represented Newcastle Knights in Harold Matthews and South Sydney in SG Ball, before crossing codes.

He joins the club on a train and trial deal for the rest of this season before moving into the club’s 30-man roster in 2023 and 2024.
Correct. NRL has him in top 30 for 23 + 24

I understand the desire to add something significant to our squad. Unfortunately it's easier said then done. So I had a look at what we started this season with compared to what we start next year with, and surprisingly we are stronger. Some area's we stay the same, some potentially stronger and some definitely stronger.

There isn't a position we start 23 in weaker then what we started 22 in.

Some may argue front row and backrow, but if we look into that, I believe we are stronger in both.

Paps replaces Luc...win
Blore replaces Tuilagi..win
Talau replaces Garner..confident he can do similar job.

Then youngsters at the point of their career that they are ready to be depth NRL players filling in here and there getting experience in Tumeth, Matamua and Boyling. Some luck with injuries and our backrow situation isn't as dire as we may think.

Front row of Joffa, Stef, Twal, Pole and Musgrove is stronger then carrying Tamou in that group. Stef will improve out of sight next year, Joffa has worn 13 but the past month has played as our number on middle man, like Fisher Harris taking those first hits and easily denting the line, he will be great up front. Pole looks a great prospect, and Musgrove is still getting better after hardly playing for 5 years.

Api huge improvement.

Doueihi fit, Ken over his knee issue and Naden left centre will all be improvements on our backline. Throw in Tupou, and who knows.

So while the squad is still on the weak side, we are at least better off next year then what we were at the start of this year, God willing with injuries.

There is no doubt imo that JT was by far the worst coach to ever coach a Tigers side even ahead of Lamb and Jones.
I said that when he was appointed, before he coached 1 game here, this will end badly, Taylor has caused problems at every club he has been to, both as a player and coach, it ended even worse than I thought it would. Who can forget his favourite Rankin playing wing with ET at hooker, ET comes off for a rest, Rankin goes to hooker, the centre to wing, secondrow to centre, all the while Farah is in reserve grade, outstanding coaching

The thing with gildart
He just xame to the wrong nrl team at the wrong time lol

Best case he should of spent at least half a year in cup before transitioning into the first team

He does have potential

Good luck to him

Nah, I disagree. He would have been the same no matter where he went. He just doesn't hve the traits of a good NRL centre.

Geez we have had to put up with some dead beats!

all the while Farah is in reserve grade,

He must have hated Farah with a passion but the feelings were definitely mutual. Can you remember when Robbie was playing reserve grade (I think) for the Jason Taylor cup. Robbie refused to play.

It was surly and rude but I don't blame him.

Once I had a boss who screwed over my bonus payment. I don't think I'd ever work for that moron again. I got him back though. I was paid full time as a project manager (it's not bad dollars) and I went into work about 2 days a week for about 4 hours a day. That went on for honestly 6 months.

Speaking of Kei... Thought he gave the game away... Was playing for magpies in RMC over the weekend

Sill on the website as well - The other boys have since been removed.
Probably just riding it out, Still getting paid - But told there's nothing in this game for you?

You couldn’t make this stuff up. We’re yet to see you play senior league but here, have a 2.5 year contract. Joke club.

This is a puzzle.
Not good enough for us but the supercoach wants him ???

Don't worry - The super coach has a list of Duds to go with all the others....
Just hides them better, And convinces them to move on better than most.

Never forget him telling Kevin Naqaima - Mate, You're too good for this Knights team - You should go to the Panthers and make the best of it there...

What I don’t understand is why Madge or some professional assistant coach couldn’t see over the off season that he had no idea in D?
But I guess that is why we are now looking for a coach.
Uh, who are you defending against during the off-season?
