Official: Three Life Members to lead coaching succession plan

Well thats done me....I would rather donate my membership to the homeless and continue on my golf journey instead of waiting excitedly for the next WTs game...If the club has to stoop so low as to get old "BOYS CLUB LEGENDS " in to fix the joint after these guys were the ones who started the rot then all I can do is wait for one of the players to publicly say ""Benji,Robbie and Sheens cant coach""...I mean it worked for Farah to get rid of Potter and low and behold the place is in the exact place it was when Farah spoke his crap and cost us a coach and a lot of credibility...
But then again we still have the same CEO who is spared the axe because he has his head burried up so many arses he gets a pass...
Enjoy the next few years guys and gals ....I will look on and hope you can have a decent team to follow because you love league and the WTs ...
I just cant stand the garbage the joint feeds us year after year and we still dont play finals like other teams do.I mean deadset 12 years without finals, complete and utter joke...
Love you all and its nothing personal to any of you great people buy really enough is enough....cheers guys...
You'll be back 🐯

Take care old timer.
See ya on the course one day ⛳️ 🏌️‍♂️

hard to believe how many people appear not to be supporting the club for making a decision, which is what we've all been waiting for, at least they have made a decision, let's see where it takes our club, cant be any worse than where we are currently.
Well that’s easy to answer.
The club is currently staring down its worst season in 23 years which is really saying something as we’ve had 20 failed seasons out of those 23.

Instead of working through it and coming out the otherside stronger and more battle hardened from the experience we have sacked our coach 18 months early, with no replacement organised, publically courted possible contenders only to have them equally publically reject us, ignored far more suitable replacements who have coached in the NRL very recently and signed a bloke in his 70’s (who was responsible for sacking the incumbent coach) and who hasn’t coached NRL in a decade and was responsible for at least 7 of those failed years. To compound this baffling decision, this coach, surely out of touch with the modern game, not only has to get up to speed with how the game is played these days, but also has to babysit and train a total greenhorn to take over from him.

This greenhorn, who is the most ‘of the cuff’ and anti structured player in recent memory, has twice been driven out of the club as a player and finished playing football last year. He has a 2 year crash course in front of him to not only learn how to coach professional athletes, but to also learn how to become the head coach of the organisation.

These two will be joined by a third guy (also once driven out of this club), responsible for helping kill off the careers of at least two former coaches and if rumours are to believed, joined the greenhorn in mobilising the dressing room against the old fella a decade ago which started an 11 year stretch of failure to play finals footy, which remains current.

These three men, who have previously worked together for a decade and have a seasonal success rate of only 30% are now tasked with the monumental assignment of turning around a club that is arguably still on the decline and people are questioning why there exists division amongst the supporter base for these developments? you really have got to laugh…

I am not sure how I feel...it could be a masterstroke and turn the club around. Sheenys is a proven great mentor. Benji has matured. It 'may' work.

It could also fail, spectacularly and almost prove to be the final nail in the coffin for the club.

Massive gamble. I genuinely don't know which way it will go.

Fingers crossed.

You are right, the gamble is astronomical and failure will kill this club off. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see it succeed but fair dinkum this is not the correct time to take such a risk.

Actually, I think they have thought this through. They might be completely incompetent at their jobs, but they are not dumb.

This is the perfect appointment for a club that doesn't want any accountability for results on the field.

Sheens already planted the seed two months ago telling fans they will need to be patient. This is at a club that hasn't made the finals since 2011. Patience is all we need, apparently.

Unfortunately, most of our fans will be happy coming 15th as long as Sheens, Benji, and Robbie are involved and that's what Pascoe and co. wanted.

There will be no heat if we finish in the bottom 2 or bottom 4 for the next few years. Mediocrity will be accepted, that's the Tigers DNA that they talk about.

I feel Sheen's, Benji and Farah are more likely to sell more hats and put more bums on the seat. And in the end, isn't financial viability what it's all about?

I am happy to give them a chance given we as fans have been waiting 12 years for a semi final appearance which they have all been involved with.

Hope they prove me and everybody wrong.

This is a good thread on the evidence of Stockholm Sydndrome f

Can’t believe that a few feel excited about this development and rationalising it will succeed .

In what world is it seen as a good thing to commit 5 years yes 5 years to someone as coach who has never coached before . Especially someone who has left the club twice and played elsewhere - first time parading his new club jumper . plus what mentoring was done for brooks when he did come back . Brooks best
year where he won dally m when both Farah and Benji where not associated with the club

Theres nothing at all to suggest it could be a masterstroke outside of this being a movie, and the movie of course ending in glory. This is real life though, and they are in a position where they have been resorted to putting PR ahead of everything else.

More like a convoy of lemmings heading towards South Head
G'day jadtiger
I reckon Sheens was reading Our Forum one day when he noticed a few on here, me included, suggesting the Walker Bros could be a good way to go....something completely different to what we have been dishing up for toooo long now, something exciting like the 2005 era.
So he put one and one together being Benji and Robbie, and came up with Our own unique version of The Walker Bros.
So....if this scintillating combination succeeds I reckon the intelligent ones 🤓 on here with the foresight to recognise this.... should be congratulated 🥰 🤣 🤣

It’s one thing to bring Benji and Robbie back to the club for feel good stories as players after they left on sour terms the first time. It’s beyond anything you can imagine appointing one as a future coach when they have only been retired a year and has no coaching experience.
