Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Excuses are for the weak...

Brooks and his friends have had em for years.
Seen plenty of them rolled out for Simpkin’s, Laurie, Doueihi and Hastings this year already….

Funny they’re the same excuses - maybe that’s the problem… the same reason the new kids get are the same excuses the old blokes had

Excuses only work for the popular kids man…
It worries me that we seem to have identified Mitch Moses as some kind of saviour. If he’s playing behind the current forward pack he’s batting at 20% wins too.

Can someone pls explain this Mitch Moses rumour?

He will never come back to our club, and why would we want him to. We’d be better off giving Tedesco a twilight pay check so that he can upgrade his teeth to 2.1.

I get that WT’s is ‘marshalling’ all the old troops back but this is starting to get silly.
No need to get angry over a rumour mate.

Or kicking to the corners when we’re behind with 4 minutes left like he was before he left….

Fair to say Moses plays the balls off the 3 blokes discussed here at stupid lengths every week though - and has done for many years

pure BS

Between now and pre season is key for signings. If we could somehow jag 2 of the quality of ipap and api our first 17 will look a lot better than the start of this year.

The 2 above plus Pole, a fit Stefano and Blore, Naden, plus Douehi with a pre season. If the 2 jagged quality signings were in key weak areas (fullback, strike centre, prop or second row) it would add a bit of excitement.

Two signings of the quality of a Tapine, Edwards, Manu or Farnworth added to all the above would shift us up the ladder. Also players like Matamua coming through provides hope as well that we can keep gaining depth from our youngsters.

Surely releasing so many players this year will allow us to front load people and free up more cash to “jag” some serious talent. If Brooks isn’t in the long term plans surely you could front load him this year so the freight we’d have to pay next year would be on 2022 books. That would provide basically $900K to $1M you could throw at a superstar.

If no talent of that level available for start of 2023 then go hard Nov 1 for 2024 onwards. I’d still be happy with that and then quality attracts more quality.

Cows and Bronks have shown you can turn around fortunes reasonably quickly.
Agree wholeheartedly.....it’s just that the talent won’t come to WT.

All the excuses and support for some is due to the fact that we see potential in certain players and are quick to blame other players for making it hard for their fav to perform.
The fact is, in my opinion, that our failure is due to salary cap/dud buys and a football club that reeks disorganisation.
All of which means for years now our roster has had more holes in it than my fav socks.
There has to be a good balance of players right across to top 30 to allow players to reach and maintain their potential.
As far back as post 05 success we haven't had a top 4 roster which includes players, coach and front office.

It’s all related. Nathan Clearys kicking game in origin was shit because his forwards got bashed. Same same

I agree - the particular game I was referring to however, was possibly the worst game I’ve seen us play….
Cows in 2015 at Campbelltown.
Horrendous

I just wish the new powers that be would give us some update who are we recruiting ? Our forum is scouring all the rejected or out of favour players at other clubs .That's what I call bottom feeding
I guess can't say much till some deals done but the silence is depressing
