Yes, it was an incredible lapse in judgment by Rabbitoh officials. NFI of the highest order.
On a points basis and calibrating wins, he was responsible for no less than a quarter of their wins last years, more or less steering them into the gf.
On my theory that each game is worth about $4m, that they couldn’t find a couple of hundred to keep him from leaving showed they weren’t across their brief.
It’s not just points, it’s composure and crisp game acumen, his skills and off the paddock persona.
They seriously misjudged the expected improvement in youngsters and rolled the dice for less capable players.
They clung to the belief of mega power from Trell, who only plays half a season through injury, suspension etc.
99% of their fans argued that the club should have retained him, because they understood footy, but their officials were stubborn.
This is why I have faith and tolerance in some aspects of basic fan calls.
Seems like we are not the only basket cases out there? The way things are going, most of our highway players will have retired before we get our act together.
They were disrespectful and disloyal to him. I’m not a celebrity player guy, marquee worshipping flog, but if I was, Renno would be top of my list. Extraordinarily powerful asset, a footballers footballer. He didn’t ask for his full freight either. He tried to compromise.
Getting back to fan calls, our management etc are all supposed to know what they are doing, but the results aren’t reflecting that.
It may be a management team of
@Cobarcats,
@liltiger,
@tigertragic and
@Demps etc ( just examples) could produce much better results if given the keys. Hard to do “worser” as one of my kids might say. A lively and enigmatic board that would be.
Make Dennis chairman even.
Where are we on the table? How many years in development are we looking at?
Our future coach hasn’t even been in charge of an U9’s squad for half a game but seems to know his way around an adult shop.
Maybe benji can find a rubber NRL team to f&&k instead of us.
