For goodness sake if Brooks does sign a new contract it won't be a linear contract at 766k per year. It would most certainly be extremely heavily front loaded, 600k sign on bonus in this year's cap and then 500-600 a year after.

As far as I am concerned he is not worth 766k,the greatest thing he lacks is footy IQ,and I really don't think things are going to change with the new coaches after playing over 150 first grade games.

I couldn't stand Maguire either, as he sucked the natural abilities out of our players, but sucked it up, just as a club loyal Brooks did, and I have not wavered on my opinion of the coach being a handbrake on his and others play.

Quite content in having maintained to this day that Brooks is a first grade level half, despite more and more jumping on the noisy naysayer bandwagon.

Looking forward to Luke’s ongoing contribution to our game in the years to come.

If he’s a first grade half (and getting huge money for being one) then why does Hastings have to cover for him and play halfback in attack?
Funny thing is Maguire ended up getting the boot for continually putting his faith in him as a halfback.
Simply put Brooks is fine running the ball out wider but lacks any organisational skill or football smarts.
He is lucky to be worth $400k
PS I’d be loyal too if I was getting close to a million bucks a year and never had to prove I was worth it.

Of course Brooks was shackled by Maguire he handed him the team backed him over and over again and joins a line of others that have been held accountable for Brooks( including Farah and Benji) not developing his game to the level that we had all wished and hoped for. The pattern is so firmly ingrained in this club for no result- every one outside the club can see it- I just hope to god Brooks backs himself somewhere else so we can focus on developing a team instead of a player.

He's barely worth have that amount,so I'm sure hoping we don't get stuck with him at those lofty $$$

Moses, Farah, Taylor, Benji have all been blamed for stifling Brooks. Let’s add Madge to the list.

You can put the mortgage on Api stifling Brooks next year.
