Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

Brooks can play.

He isn’t a player who will guide the team around the park. He is like AD a 1 sided player. Hastings at lock with AD/Brooks could work it’s more a case of if Hastings wants to play long term at lock but probably more importantly if his body will be able to handle the load thrown at him as well. It’s a massive ask for anyone to play 80mins at lock today let alone a halfback converting.

Get Brooks on the left and he will create opportunities for sure if given the space.

Alot actually hedges on Hastings more so than Brooks himself to be successful here and that’s the biggest concern I have.
Are you saying he's a half back that lacks the skills a halfback should have ?

That'll do me.

I also noticed no one made mention of his abysmal defence and organising of his edge last week as we kept strolling through....

Brooks misses 1 tackle we've got him in the toaster - Reynolds can barely make one.
Unfortunately Reynolds doesn't play for us.

The pure for love for Brooks by some is unbelievable.

It's an easy thing to say, on each side of the argument.

Brooks doesn't win us games.

Case in point.
Blind hatred can't see it when he does....

Won us the game against the Rabbits.
It's all good man, You don't need to admit it...

We actually watch the games.

Living in the past.

Holding into former glory.
No thanks.

I just pointed you to (1) game that he did win - pretty much single handedly
- with an intercept try, And then a field goal.
Also a big hand in the win the week before (But didn't get the accolades)

You said he doesn't win us games
- Which is just wrong

And I pointed out it was over 100 days ago.
What has he won for us since ?

We can just go around in circles with this.

Reynolds' dud pass near the Roosters' try line results in a Keary try. Reynolds has had a poor game tonight and pretty much the same last week. You won't read much about it. If it were Brooks, he would be taken to task about it.

Comparing brooks to Reynolds 🤣
That'll do me...

Kicked the ball dead from a bomb....

Pretty easy to sit back and pick a footballers game to pieces innit.

Not IMO. I did say in a previous post I think he is a 5/8th. Some think he is a halfback good for them, I have never seen it even when I watched him back in schoolboys. But I’m not an NRL coach so what would I know.

Well - He won it....

Pretzel Knees wasn't there to play back rower in 6 to help out...

All halves make errors - they have the hands on the ball more than any other player bar the DH its how they balance that out with directing the play/team that sorts the better ones from the the average and below average ones.
They don't have to star they just need to do thier job. Looking at the teams in the top half of the comp and rating their halves compared to the bottom half of the comp gives a pretty good indication of why some teams are struggling.

A fair assessment of the talent around them also helps with that...
