Merkins 🤣🤣 love it!Not one time did those merkins mention the full content of the Papas interview where he said that he is looking forward to working with Sheens, Benji and Robbie.

As I said yesterday , only his manager is to blame for this. He sold his client short and now he wants to cash in by bullying. The timing of this latest chapter with IPap is a result of extremely bad player manager practice. Legally he has a contract, what can the player say that the manager can’t. That’s what a real player manager is for, to act on behalf of the client.
IPaps i think you have been played by your manager, save face and be a man. You player manager does not have your best interests at heart , the WT do.
IF this is true and he is going to try and get out on compassionate grounds he is a real low life piece of shit. First it was Maguire, then it was i love pawwa now its i want to go back and live in NZ. Why didn't he just sign with the warriors 10 months ago.![]()
Papali’i could return to Warriors if he turns back on Tigers deal
A new club has emerged as a potential destination for unsettled star Parramatta forward Isaiah Papali’i.www.smh.com.au
There has been a fresh twist in the playing future of Isaiah Papali’i, with the Parramatta star considering requesting a release from his Wests Tigers deal to relocate back to New Zealand.
I tend to agree - if he doesn't want to play with WT he can sit out the 3 years and spend the whole time in NZ with his partner watching the warriors run around.Papalli is an interesting case we signed him for a fair value at the time. Had one great season. He’s now backed it up and his value is higher. He knows it as does his manager.
My view is Tigers have no choice they have to draw a line in the sand even if it hurts our salary cap. We simply buckle every time.
You sign for the club. The club pays the wages. FULLSTOP.Our problem is that soon after Papali’i signed with us on an extra $450k, we hauled the coach and the head of football in for a review, followed by sackings, followed by constant leaks to the media about sacking the coach, until he was eventually sacked 9 months later.
Sure you could argue that this 180 turnaround is a constant feature of WT behaviour, and should not come as a surprise to anyone, but the fallout from the lack of certainty would have tremendous impact on the young man’s expectations.
Looks like we may not hear anything positive until after the World Cup?
The instability erodes expectations and with that, if not handled well comes an erosion of trust. This has been our problem for far too long. You sign for the club. The club pays the wages. FULLSTOP.
Firstly Anasta is a player manager on TV , conflict of interest on display. Anasta was not in the IPap stature, he was over the hill and unwanted. I have my own story too Braith, but nobody wants to hear it.My take on this is different because when I first heard this I thought, no he has got to honour his contract,” Anasta said.
“Then I had a think about it myself and I was in a very similar situation.
“It was the Tigers, but it could have been any club, where I signed at that club and Tim Sheens was the coach.
“He signed me for a specific reason. He wanted a certain something out of me in terms of leadership and direction with a few players there and he made the sell to me.
“He was the coach and the Australian coach and I wanted to play under Tim Sheens. That was the only reason I signed. The sole reason I signed.
“Then he got sacked a few weeks later. I honoured the contract, but now I look back at it and I think it was a poor decision from me.
“If I had my time over it would have been in the best interests of me and the club not to go there because it wasn’t the right fit.
“I was taking hit ups off taps, which is one thing, but what I’m trying to say is if he doesn’t want to go there and he only went there because a coach wanted him for a specific role to play his part in that team.

100% off the mark. How? If you want Papalli to sit out 3 years he will still be on our books, meaning the Tigers will be 600k they can't use on any other signings and 600k less cap space than any other club.
Good luck making the top 8 for the next 3 years...
When did Anasta say that? That’s a very candid comment. I take it on face value. My take on this is different because when I first heard this I thought, no he has got to honour his contract,” Anasta said.

100% off the mark.
Nice story Braith.Pretty sure Braith wasnt wanted by the Roosters and was at the backend of his career with limited options and that was the reason he signed with WTs. Papalii got offered significantly more money than his club was prepared to pay. Have now realised they screwed up and have made provisions to match it. Totally differentMy take on this is different because when I first heard this I thought, no he has got to honour his contract,” Anasta said.

No Bwaith - it was a poor decision by Sheens to even contact you in the first place. My take on this is different because when I first heard this I thought, no he has got to honour his contract,” Anasta said.
