Dean Hawkins has an outstanding kicking game for a 4 game rookie. I would be getting him across quickly of Madden leaves. Perfect back up half and may just be a genuine first grader of the future. His passing game looks better the Ilias as well.

Get rid of Brooks by all means but Jock Madden is not the answer

If I'm picking a team to play tomorrow I dont think there's any doubt Brooks would be picked over Madden (both being fit and ready etc) but if I'm picking a squad for next year and I have to choose between a 300k Madden and a 950k Brooks, I'd be taking the cheaper option. That 650k is literally another iPap, and with the potential availabilities that will be happening this off-season it's the smart option. If/when this swap happens I can't see us losing out.

It depends. Hastings @ 13 changes the picture completely.

Hastings is the guy leading the team around. He is the critical piece. Doueihi is the best runner we have in the halves so he is the most important apart from Hastings.

I think Brooks is better than Madden in that running 6 role as well but it depends on dollars.

It depends. Hastings @ 13 changes the picture completely.

think if the club signs Hastings they may well be prepared to let a Brooks or douhie go, and run with 7. Madden 6. Dylan Brown

The problem we have is AD wants to wait until after the WC and then others will be offering him big money..
I think the way we go is:
1. Extend Hastings ASAP
2. Try and extend AD but look at other option if he is not keen - Brown
3. Extend Daine Laurie as he is starting to come into the game more with our new game play and once Api is added next year it will open even more for him.
4. Make a play for another 2nd rower like Angus C
5. If we cannot get AD to commit I can see why we want to extend Brooks but on reduced money.

I have a Gut feeling Sheen has this worked out and just setting the table behind the scenes. I also think there is going to be a move from left field that we will go wow.. Fingers crossed

I agree with most of what you say, except AD. I would rather Brown than AD any day of the week. Douehi is nothing more than a running backrower in the 6 jersey. We could put him in the centres where he can cut out the bloke between him and the winger when we have an overlap.
I love AD,s passion, if only he could tackle. If AD holds us to ransom, let him go.

If we get D Brown, A Doueihi will accept centre, we need to recruit another halfback, possibly D Hawkins. Hasting settles as lock, bench or leaves.
Brooks and Madden if the can find a starting spot elsewhere , I encourage them to go, we have no room.
