Anyone can make a secret donation to a NRL club legally.
The rules use to be , and I hope I’m not far off, going off memory, quiet a way back.
As long as it’s a silent donor, meaning they can’t be announced or profit commercially from it.
So if doggies leagues throw in $3 million , cheering more to spend on players.

Im throwing our leagues under the bus here, but I’m guessing they aren’t anywhere near the more serious clubs.

Yeah but statues and footy players means $$$$ , in other ways.

They have retained a lot of young guys who were nobodies 2-3 yrs ago. They also made the two most astute signings of the year imo.

Still prefer AD in the Centres.

Possibly but I’m not sold on Brown. I think from what we saw with Jacko at 13 he is the more creative option.
Brown is a head down bum up player, who if you watch closely, doesn’t read the play that well and has only been a threat close to the opposition line.

PS. But totally agree AD at right centre is the way to go.
I guess our future halves situation will depend heavily on what happens to Brooks and Madden at season end. The reported approach to Mitch Moses has gone quiet, so assume that’s a dead duck.

Nowadays Pascoe is taking a back seat in terms of recruitment and retention.
Baton is firmly in Sheens grip and will he live and die on basis on what he brings on board for next 2 years.

Yep 💯 correct @momo_amp_medo.......Sheens will either go down in NRL and WT history as a genuine Sheenius or a pariah. There wont be any middle ground imo.

Um, it's because they get value out of their big money players and they also have had one of the best production lines of junior talent in the comp.

We keep signing questionable players that no one else wants, thinking they'll miraculously get better (they mostly don't). Our highest paid players earn double what they should

I’d have him. Newcastle are in problem times aye.Im thinking buy first or bid, they are desperate , then twist a swap deal to lure someone else and get the deal done

They have a beach lifestyle in Sydney, this will always help with recruiting . Small club with big ideas, easy decision if you were a player.

The position we are in we should have a daily hook up with player managers just in case any players are feeling unloved, need a change of scenery. Pascoe probably just reads Buzz’s column.

Sheens will never attempt to talk player signing unless they have signed and there is an agreed announcement. Both party’s have to be ready.
Once teams drop out of the race, news will start coming in.
Look at it this way , hoping of course that I’m guessing close, we probably see nothing from the bottom clubs we like.
