Adam Doueihi #227

Freddy had incredible footwork, sensational ball playing and was a gun defender. Not comparable.
Agree, freddy just looked slow but I don't think he was.
Freddy was strong in the hips which made it easier for him to do the in and away and double step, legend!

Hip recovery?
It was a hip drop tackle and I heard Hastings was out from it.
I assume "hip drop" tackle injures the hips. Naturally names may be misleading and I hope Hastings hasn't injured the hips as hip injuries are bad.

I heard Hastings was out for 4 weeks, is that true or NRL garbage?

Hastings is out rest of the season.

miss lead by the name,an ankle lower leg thing

Most every player we have let go to stronger clubs that we convince ourselves we don't need (why fooling ourselves that we can do better) we make ourselves look more foolish to NRL community while making it harder to recruit. Doueihi can play and has weaknesses. We need to retain him and strengthen the squad beside him to give us any chance of moving up the ladder and to give him some hope of achieving success at this club.
Our spine have shown to be capable a lot this year imo. It’s our forward pack that is in absolute disarray.

Fittler was a tremendous ball player and had that step. He could play centre, 5/8 or lock equally well.

One of the best 5/8s I ever watched play who came through at the same time as Fittler and competed at schoolboy level against him was Balmain player Paul Davis. He had silky ball skills and could put players through gaps, create space or run himself. He was quick enough to do the job.

What ever happened to him?

A "hip drop" consists of the offending defensive player dropping their hip onto the prone tackled player below.

In this case it was incredibly accurate, smashing Hastings' ankle, literally. He would normally be out for some half a season if injured earlier in the competition, so will be a late starter for full workload in the off season.

Melbourne tried and failed to get Adam Doueihi on loan on August 1 but don’t be surprised if they come back for the Wests Tigers star on a more permanent basis should Cameron Munster opt to sign with the Dolphins after November 1.

The Storm’s priority is to keep Munster and they won’t rest while there is still hope that he could stay. However, if the Queensland and Australian superstar elects to leave, the Storm will need to explore their options and Doueihi is likely to be at the top of the list alongside Canterbury star Matt Burton.
Doueihi’s contract mirrors that of Munster - he is off contract at the end of next season. The lure of Melbourne might be too much to resist for Doueihi given how tempted he was to join the club when the offer of a loan came up a few weeks ago.

The Tigers ultimately prevented Doueihi helping Melbourne in the lead-up to the finals - David Nofoaluma joined the Storm instead.

Failed to get him to replace Marion Seve or Young Tonumaipea
