Adam Doueihi #227

It's funny the way we all get on here after big losses and rip into the halves. First, Doueihi was terrible, probably even worse defensively than when Moses deliberately played badly to get traded.

However, our biggest issue is our forwards. We made about 20 metres on our first set and didn't do better after it. Roosters were getting 60-70 metres every set. Put any half in our team and watch them suffer. Walker is a much weaker defender than doueihi and we didn't notice it at all because his team is dominant.

We need to learn how to tackle properly and push up in defense, and we need to find a way to make metres coming out of our own half. Until we can do that, it absolutely doesn't matter who plays 5/8.

I would keep doueihi because he's the best attacking 5/8 we have.

Been saying this for weeks…you can tell how the game will pan out after the first set…

5/8ths need to pass too!!

How Douehi butchered the chance for Naden off his hip & ran away from him was criminal!

He's a good (NOT great) ball runner & bomb-kicker - but he's slow as a wet week in attach & his defence is laughable at times!

He needs to simplify his game - and 5/8th is not the position to do that!

That was bad, but Melbourne were a class above the 2022 Roosters (who at times have struggled to stay in the 8), and tonight's scoreline was even worse.
I don’t know about that, it’s marginal. I was only referring to comments about basically this wouldn’t of happened under Fadges coaching. When we looked exactly the same in defence against both of these teams. Given as well we have loaned out players and two of our spine are out injured as well as others. Plus we lost 3 players of the bench, I think the game against the storm was a fair bit worse!! But again it’s marginal!

Pole's play the balls were far faster than most of the other forwards. It is this attention to detail which makes the difference. His more senior forwards need to copy his style.
We're down on props.

Most of that pack won't be here next year or not even making the team.

Pole has earned his spot in the team though.
Plays with aggression and confidence, amongst a losing, disgraceful team..

He can hold his head high.

Twal & Stef straight back in.
Hopefully some more recruitment to strengthen this area.

Pole though, what a breakthrough debut season.

Pole has that spirit to compete, just like Scolari. You can see these players want to be out there and hate to lose.

Really difficult for players to critique their own game honestly when you get beat 72 -6. In a team sport it takes more than one player to play poorly to get beat by that many yet when this happens one player carries the bulk of the blame.
That scoreline was reflective of the indescrepinces in the salary cap. When you have got money to spend on the best players but they all want to play for certain clubs - who can somehow afford to accommodate them - then the cap is not working. On paper that was one of the most uneven match ups this season. It was always going to be about how many.
