It would seem quite a few of our 'higher echelon' players have to be shown the door, contract or no contract. Other clubs can and have done it WT just have to bite the bullet. Especially if we are to have recruitment from within our own system surely for a couple of years we can have the cap hit required to get these loafers off the books and put in place cheaper local lads to replace them. Of the 30 slots probably only half would even make the cut to become mostly the lower half of the next new 30. Similarly so for the support staff.
BUT we have to be ruthless no legacy potential players, if they havent delivered the goods as a total package to meet requirements for club, their on field position and place in squad eg senior player, they're out.
I dont know when Pascoe's current contract as CEO ends but I'd at least be looking for a potential replacement then. Im not against him but he has been here a long time and I think fresh blood is needed there.
Any clean out, can only be successful because we actually have cap space and I also add we should not be shy of trying to recruit good players but only good players, no more bargain basement / John West reject fish.
Further more its probably worth teasing out the relocation opportunities to either Perth or Central Coast. My concern over this is protecting our existing local networks, junior clubs and competitions against predatory raids by neighbouring Dogs, Eels and Panthers.
