Don’t like throwing a spanner in the works , but I am getting sick of hearing about our great juniors coming up , yet the only one who has even looked good is pole , there is nothing in the nsw cup , but other clubs are bringing throw 18 -19 -20 year olds who look great . So are we just going to keep waiting for the next 10 years again .
I disagree.
There are a handful of young blokes who’ve played NSW Cup for Western Suburbs this year who will play many many seasons in the NRL.

You'd expect the Magpies to be going better if there's that much potential
A “handful of blokes” - inexperienced too.
But they do have potential to be solid NRL players in the future.

Last time I checked - team has thirteen on the paddock, so you do the maths with regard how well we’re going.

The flegg team is going well, but given it’s under 21s now anyone who’s 21 and hasn’t yet shown something at NSW Cup level will struggle to make it IMO.

Matamua, Feledy, Kautoga etc are the exceptions IMO

How’s that Micheal tannous playing since returning from injury? Everyone on here had massive wraps on him before but don’t see his name being mentioned at all anymore

Jahream Bula
Liam Scolari
Josh Feledy
Junior Tupou
Jordan Hill (If he comes back)
Zane Camroux
Michael Tannous
Justin Matumua (c)
Brandon Tumeth
Kitione Kautoga
Fonua Pole
Jake Simpkin
Christian Ma’anaima
Bench
James Valevatu
Henry O’Kane
Sione Fainu
Lomi Saukuru

We have a bright future if we can keep the majority of these young players they should be ready in a couple of years & some even sooner like Fonua Pole.
Why not just fire everyone and take this squad?
OK maybe make a high pay offer to one or two decent forwards. Otherwise why not just take this squad over our first grade? ///

Yep it's that bad.

We'd get performances like last week every week.

We have to be patient. We'll be extremely lucky to get 5 good players coming through year on year. We haven't developed top juniors that make it at NRL level for years.

I swear to god, one of the biggest problems with our recruitment is that we overvalue our juniors.
A good player comes on the market and a lot of people scream ‘he’s not worth it, we’ve got some pimply faced, wet behind the ears, snot nosed punk in Flegg who will be great in 7 years time’…
