Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Fox now reporting TPJ in reserve grade on $925k a year. At what point to these muppets get pulled up over sensationalising players salaries. In 2 weeks time when it emerges dogs are offloading him, he will be on 1.2k by then.

Anyway, his salary is closer to 700k. Even though he isn't the character we need, if we could get him for 400k I'd be for it. We desperately need size and aggression, and a talent like him for 400k when we have money we literally can't spend is worth the risk.

And we reject offers to take him and advise we want Kikau!

He might be recognised by YOU as the 2nd best coach behind Bennett....
His achievements pale in comparison to Bellamy...
and he isn't rated by anyone else really - He's done nothing for 10 years.

Bennett is the most successful - But not the Best.
Bennett has almost coached almost 900 games - With a 62.5% Win rate

Tim Sheens, wich is what I did, nothing I wrote was my imagination

Hey look it up like I did On Google, do you think I plucked that information out of my head, No I did what you should do, look it up, don't be a smart arse and have a shot at me for quoting the information I obtained from written authority, and I did not state that sheens was better than Bennett, I stated the Information offered by google records, and that was Bennett number 1, and Sheens number 2.
Just look up coaches names and you will find the same info I did.
And as far as Bellamy is concerned, yes he has an impressive record,
With top line players all the way through his 19 years or so with Melbourne and 4 of those impressive years were taken away from his club for cheating by big margins on the cap.

And if you look at Bennett with bronco's he had same privileges they provided him with great players.
And when they stopped providing those players, he left the club, and took a bit of talent with him.

AND ONE MORE THING WITH TIM, ADD HIS COACHING IN ENGLAND ONTO HIS AUSTRALIAN AMOUNT, AND HE IS WELL OVER THE 800 MARK.

ALSO HE GOT HIS CREDITS FOR HIS COACHING BY ACCEPTING THE JOB TO COACH TEAMS THAT WERE THE UNDERDOGS.

BENNETT BELLAMY AND CIRALDO WILL ONLY COACH TEAMS THAT HAVE TOP PLAYER ROSTER'S.
AND FAVOURITES TO MAKE THE EIGHT.

THINK YOURSELF LUCKY YOUR CLUB HAS A GREAT COACH.

AND CANT OUR SUPPORTERS JUST BE HAPPY WE HAVE A PLAN FOR THE FUTURE.

Yep - cos the 90’s raiders weren’t over the cap…

Unless you know Nick Politis you're under cap pressure with 20 more players to pay, or the ball boys will be playing on the wing ( which if we lose Nofo and Kenny may be a better option )
The only way to remedy “ Nick factor“ situations is for NRL to introduce set player market valuations based on their ability and experience and these amounts used for clubs salary cap assessments.
At the same time third party external salary cap sponsor top up incentives to be abolished OR if this is too hard for Players Union to accept, then any such top ups to be included under the Clubs salary cap limits.

Nice story, but Bellamy would be first or second, and Bennett either second or first, Tim is not top 2, then you have Jack Gibson and Warren Ryan thrown in the mix as well
What is it with you all.
Get on google and punch in Wayne Bennett.

Then punch in Tim Sheens and you will have all the info I got.

I am not guessing who I think is the best coach.

I am quoting from articles from Google.

Realistically - he’s lucky to have lasted this long…
I don’t know of any coaches lasting after not making the finals for 4 years after winning the comp….

Penrith will be forced to fend off four rival clubs – and possibly a fifth – in a dogfight to retain NSW back-rower Liam Martin.

And a proposed, yet so far declined, upgrade for Martin has been described as a “sticking point” by his manager.

Martin, 25, comes off contract after 2023 but is seeking an upgrade for next season.

The Daily Telegraph has been told St George Illawarra, Wests Tigers, Melbourne Storm and Cronulla have shown interest in Martin, who played all three State of Origin games this season.

Martin’s future may well depend on whether the Panthers can find some additional money for an upgrade next season.

Penrith has already lost Viliame Kikau (Bulldogs), Api Koroisau (Wests Tigers), Sean O’Sullivan (Dolphins) and J’Maine Hopgood (Parramatta) for next season.

While reluctant to discuss his client’s negotiations, Martin’s manager Al Gainey said: “We realise Penrith is under a tight situation but Liam is certainly deserving of a very good contract in upcoming talks.

“The club’s reluctance to be able to offer an upgrade at this stage is a little bit of a sticking point.”

Martin scored Penrith’s matchwinning try late in the game against Souths last Friday night at Accor Stadium. He had 16 runs for 148 metres including six tackle breaks.

Penrith is desperate to retain Martin and Martin wants to remain – provided the adequate finances can be found by the club.

Cronulla coach Craig Fitzgibbon is a known Martin fan although the Sharks would struggle to fit the back-rower in under the club’s salary cap.

It is understood Martin and Gainey will hold further talks after Penrith’s match against the Warriors on Friday night at BlueBet Stadium.

Panthers and NSW teammates Stephen Crichton and Brian To’o also come off contract after next season.

Penrith will also need to decide whether the club will retain forward Spencer Leniu and winger Charlie Stains.

An upgrade for Martin may be possible if Penrith move a player in coming weeks.

Melbourne may elect against pursuing Martin given the club will be throwing bags of cash to retain gun player Cam Munster.

Martin’s heroics against Souths were even more meritorious given he rolled an ankle against Melbourne in round 22.

Asked about his decisive try, Martin said: “It was my first matchwinner.”

Penrith claimed the NRL minor premiership with their win over Souths.
We should be going into Penrith say we know your under salary cap pressure... we can take Martin, Leniu & Staines from next season...
And just like that we have 4 Panthers walk in at once... instant culture shift.

Obviously you are just a shit stirrer, I was warned that I would encounter some, it would not matter what I said about any possible things I see as a forward move for the club, you will get out your BAT & Belt the shit out of my comment's.

We'll take Martin, Leniu & Staines and we'll give you Jake Simpkin (since you lost Korisau), Zane Musgrove (we'll even pay 50%) and Peachey to finish his career where it started (and we'll also pay 50%). Bring it baby!!!

What is this thing lots of you members have about Tim Sheens Age, He is 71, Wayne Bennett is 72, does this make them stupid, after all they dont have to play the game, they only need to know how its played, and these guys know the ins and outs of the game as they both played it in there younger days, if they gave you the job how do you think you would handle it,
And how old are you.
Great post. His brain, not his body is what is needed. How many people would vote for a PM or president under 40? Nick at Easts steers the boat, and hes no spring chicken,Gould also.

Zero Tackle has him listed at $925K for 3 years .

both good for 20 min. max. Thats what started our downward spiral previously. Plus overrated 1 game duds.
Yeah but we offered the last crop all ridiculous 4 year deals worth alot of money if you were to get there 2 it would be 2 year deals max on small money

Tyson Frizzle would 100% be a quality signing. The price matters, is he worth 1 million a season? nope. 400K and under, YES!
Unsure which Fifita, I have to assume Andrew. A low ball contract would be worthwhile, the sharks have better options. We don't. I am talking Min contract 120k stuff.
Frizzell reportedly has a player option for next season with Newcastle at 700K, do you think he is going to come here for 400K?
I wouldn't really be against Fifita being here on a low end contract but it is not a signing to get excited about.
