I'm all for change but think if people are going to be so heavy about it they should have someone in mind to replace them with

The board just select themselves ad nauseum - except for the two NRL appointed to it. The whole lot should be forced out for being inadequate.

Can you give me detailed examples why the Rorters or Melbourne or Penrith board as so good.

Can you tell me why the Commonwealth Bank board is so good ?

They aren't day to day management roles. Typically these people have absolutely no impact on the day to day running of the organization they are representing.

My honest opinion is that the people hacking the board have absolutely no idea about corporate governance.

Some people are just searching for a silver bullet to fix our on field woes and looking in wrong place.
CEO and the Board doing fine in achieving required finance stability and support facilities infrastructure for the football club.
It is up to the Football Club management to hit their KPI and provide the right players for the roster, coaching expertise and associated support staff achive on field success.
In most cases Chairman the CEO and the Board rely on advice and recommendations from the football department before signing off to implement football related changes.
Unfortunately that didn’t work out very well over the period of time Madge was in charge.
So hopefully that’s how things pan out sometimes.

If I could (which I can't) I'd happily sack the board and Pascoe if it would turn us into a top team.

If I had miracle powers (which I don't) I though wouldn't worry about the board or Pascoe at all. I'd bring in the best 17 players in the comp and if we didn't win I'd sack the coach.

If you want to criticize the board and Pascoe you have to criticize them for their decisions. So employing Madge or employing Jason Taylor or Ivan Cleary or Sheens. Surely these guys aren't recruiting and managing our cap.

The board has changed even though I pay no attention to it. We used to have Marina Go as the chairperson and now it's Lee. They've made some bad decisions in relation to the coach but the question is are these decisions terrible decisions without hindsight.

I can tell you right now that appointing Sheens , marshal and Farah for the next 5 years is a horrible decision. No hindsight needed.
But lets just go along for the ride and all look surprised when it goes south.

You are missing my point. The board and CEO shouldn't be the ones impacting on field results. That's not their job.

Can you prove to me that they are the ones to blame for our team being terrible ? If not that you just have an uneducated dumb opinion.

If you give me a reasoned argument then you can convince me.

Typically if you have an opinion you need some facts to back it up.

This is good. It's a prediction made today.

It'd be better if you could provide the decision that you would have made in the circumstances as well.

The point being that it's easy to state it was a bad decision but you need to come up with a better decision. I'm not sure a better option was available and that is the same with Madge and Cleary. JT was a big stuff up.

Of course I don't because I'm not stating they are good. I have no idea if they are good or bad. I don't consider them as having basically any impact at all on the team's performance.

I hope we are profitable and I hope we provide the footy team with the resources to be successful but all I care about is winning more games.

He talked about the costs for the club involved in hosting a game there.
It's always been that way...

People waffle (And it is waffle) on about playing at Commbank (Or ANZ / SFS back in the day)
It's like this.... And always been like this, As follows...

At the big stadiums, we get paid a decent amount of money - Walk in and Walk Out, No hassle, No fuss - No nothing.... Guaranteed return regardless of numbers.

At Cambo, (My favourite stadium - to be clear) It's much the same deal - We walk in and out, No hassle or expenses for the club...
But we never get the decent numbers consistently required out there to turn a decent profit.

At Leichhardt, They often get decent numbers required there to make a buck
- But the club has to do EVERYTHING!!
Hire the Big Screen, Pay for and co-ordinate Security and Traffic control - Everything!!
It's a big toll on the club to hold a game there - And a lot of man power goes into it.

The council there are taking the piss - Like when they bang on about how much they care about LO and it's upgrades.... They use it to sell themselves...
I was part of a discussion with an old CEO that was telling us that the Wests Tigers had to pay to upgrade the Parking and footpath around the oval / swim centre because it was unsafe....
The club has to carry the can to hold games there - They're not going to cop a loss on the chin, Those costs are passed on for the product to go ahead - Like any business.

For those reasons - My opinion has always been to just take the cash....
Get paid at the big stadiums, We still get decent numbers there.
I love Cambo, Made plenty of great mates there over the years, LO is LO... If that's your thing it does the job... Had a few beautiful Sunday arvos there as well.... Also had some shitty, Wet, Windy, Freezing Friday Nights....

This is a good point. It's not detailed but at least it's a good point.

Has the board changed in that period. Marina Go was chairperson and now Lee is. So it's clear that changes have been made.

We've also had several coaches in that period.

So change has occurred.

I'll never understand how anyone thinks the board and CEO of any company has nothing to go with results.
We'll never agree.
