Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I'm not sure he is playing better he is just surrounded by a wealth of talent that doesn't exist in our squad - in the forwards and backs - and so the workload is shared. LL was great for us.

People are revising history. Consistently one of our best players and we went to him all the time. His defense was poor at times for us but it's harder to defend well when the defense as a whole is ordinary.

The 9 commentators commnted how he had changed into a good, hard-working player since leaving the Tigers. He's still got mistakes in him but why is it that either he didn't want to work hard with us/ we don't demand players work hard?
Someone mentioned connection above. We look like 17 individuals trying to play a team sport. Nobody seems to have each other’s back or care about a greater purpose than themselves. Luciano looked lost on our edge, not playing as a unit. Not surprisingly he took the $ when it became available. Happens a lot.

Watching the final series first three games and you can see how much a decent forward pack in the modern game is required to win the middle to provide the platform for the backs to perform.

Two experience props needed asap or 2023 is going to be another long season.
Yep. The best teams have an amazing one two punch up the middle and outside backs who take advantage of it.

You summed him up pretty much but I’ll add he really can’t defend either. He can run that’s about the only positive I can say about Brooks but when you look at his tackles he still misses on average 3-5 a game. Brooks isn’t the answer and I hope to god (if there is one) that he signs with Knights come Nov 1 we have to try something different going forward.
Missed tackle stats can be misleading in that the more you put yourself in a position to make the tackle the more likely the chances are of missing a tackle as opposed to someone who is passive in defense because they don’t put themselves in a position to make the tackle.

I still don’t think that LL is worth anywhere near the $700K the Cows are paying.
Just shows that once a player signs with another club, they give up trying and are not worth a squirt of ****.

I think what final series teams have are big mobile strong forwards
We have a pack that gets steamrolled like men against boys so any discussion about our backs pointless .You can't create much behind a weak pack . I just don't think our 2 recruits is enough .
Meanwhile all this fantasy recruitment eg Tapine (really) won't achieve much

I think our pack is three recruits short of competing with the good packs, providing we recruit the right types. Api and Pappi are good starts but not enough. If we're hoping that Stef and Blore will step up, that's a huge gamble. You'd expect Pole to continue to develop but it's still not enough.
Looking at the final games so far, our pack is light years behind every other pack. We're not even in the same galaxy. Assuming we can't do both, focus on forwards for 2023 and hopefully add some good backs in 2024.
