There is a star somewhere in there. Brooks used to be a turnstile and he turned into a reliable defender. Don't see why Doueihi can't do the same.
I think I wrote a big spiel 1-2 years ago about his defence. We can't keep coming back to these same points. He needs to have a good self-reflection and consider how much he really wants it. He could be the face of this club. Or he could be a cog in the wheel at a bigger club. Or worse, he could plod along, collect his paycheck and never achieve anything. Whatever it is, he is wasting his talent at the moment.

With respect, I couldn't disagree more. Accountants should never run a club. We need winning players, through the system is fine, players that dont think it's ok to just compete. we pay overs of key positions and the rest just need to be winners.

You make a good point though. I agree, there are so many variables to consider other than the cost of outlay. Value for example? We’ve been very poor in valuing players. Nofa has not played like a $525k winger. Brooks has not produced like a $950k half. Doueihi has not been a $650k half.

All the arguments about accountants running the club aren't true are they. We've done exactly what people suggest.
Last year was an all time classic. There were so many arguments stating give Stef whatever he wants. I like Stef but that was moronic.
Everyone needs to chill out and we need to try and value our players appropriately. The problem is that we lost Aloiai and Luc and possibly Matterson from valuing players correctly.
The issue is managing the cap is an art form where the best players (the Rorters) have the ability to use off cap payments. We need some luck.
If Doueihi actually works on his game he might be worth his current payment but I reckon he wants a pay rise. @Luke Brooks #1 Fan nailed that situation in that Doueihi looks like he has the potential to be a star. We are paying for that potential but he might not even realize that at our club or potentially never.
I don't have solutions but I know we need reliable star players and not guys who show their potential every 5th or 10th game.

The problem is unless you get value you screw yourself longer term. I reckon we need to pay outside of the cap or the NRL needs a draft or we need a bunch of good juniors coming through who want to win with us and we lock them up early.
It comes down to picking the right players.

I agree, we pay overs, we go to any negotiations on the back foot, we’ve lost any advantage we had from some success in the naughties, and commentators snicker at the thought we could sign someone like Munster.
We should be grateful that the club at least recognises how far down the ladder we have dropped, and are trying some things to arrest the slide.
I would like to think that the club is trying to change what is wrong but until they admit that the board and the structure of the board is the main problem and dismantle it completely (highly unlikely i know) then the tinkering around the edges (sacking coaches regularly) will achieve very little.Yes we will have the rare good and decent years but prolonged success which we all want will evade us.

Unfortunately, I’ve finally come to the realisation that my predictions for making the playoffs during recent seasons weren’t based on anything other than hope.
Cannot realistically see us getting anywhere near playoffs for next year or two.
When James Tamou was walked for saying something like ‘incompetent you are’ there were suggestions that he wasn’t directing it at the referee.

He's a tricky one. He could only play 5/8 outside a dominant half like a DCE who does most of the work and he can chip in here and there. But that doesn't work for the Tigers as we don't have any halves of NRL standard. 3 players who if combined into one would be great, but as 3 liabilities taking up 3/13 starting positions it's a terrible situation to be in.

Jacko ??? But that leaves LB out in the cold and given they’ve kept him that seems unlikely.
I did hear Jacko say in an interview( a while ago) that Sheens asked him to play 13 so it would seem that will be his position, unless something changes.
So that looks like Brooks 1/2 and AD 5/8.
AD to the Storm ! They are not stupid . Tigers to stand hard on Paps.

Jacko has no running game as he's so slow. He has no real kicking game either. He's half a half.
