It's a decent swap for us if it happens .wouldn't pay to much thoThoughts on Staines tonight ?
Seems OK, a lot to work in.
Lightweight. Loved that shoulder charge he made though.
You’re posts have to be some of the least thought out here…Good Morning Any signings ? Of course not . Any serious rumours of likely signings ? Probably not .Suggestions as everyday Many !
Fact- Wests Tigers are a club that's got worse every year and now hit bottom
We are also considered a political hotbed with a troubled environment
and as such top class players are reluctant to come .
My problem is if I felt that these core issues were at least being admitted to and addressed I could sit back and wait for the fruits of "the new era " to take effect
Instead Everthing stays the same
Here's a little test for our " harmonious board" . How many hours have board members spent in last few years arguing about what our cup and junior sides should be called
It’s a big job and obviously can take a lot of game time together to develop that strong communication link. Example. Last night Edwards returning the ball, did everything, but send a high priority email and text to check his in box, for Staines to understand that he was trying to give him a 2 on 1 with his winger who was hugging the sideline. Staines ignored the opportunity and kept coming in.Our forwards would wanna play like Penriths then
I'd swap him for Peach for sure but I think Laurie will benefit from a good injury free offseason and steadily improve. I don't think Staines is an upgrade though but still good for depth as he does have a go.💯
Seems to have a crack at least, unlike Peach.
I think he will go ok for us. Definite upgrade over Peach. As long as they upgrade all the cast offs we will slowly get stronger.Thought Staines played well last night. A swap with Peachey a plus for us.
Noticed Staines positional play was ordinary. Too deep on a lot of backline shifts. It’s a big job and obviously can take a lot of game time together to develop that strong communication link. If you move a rotten peach you’re left with a stain.I think he will go ok for us. Definite upgrade over Peach. As long as they upgrade all the cast offs we will slowly get stronger.
Yeh, a try went begging as the perfect pass sailed a metre in front. Some parts of his game didn’t impress .Noticed Staines positional play was ordinary. Too deep on a lot of backline shifts.
I'm convinced he is a very good player in a very good team. I'm also convinced it is hard to look a very good player in a poor team. Lets be honest he is not going to get the platform from our forwards to do his stuff.
I cannot remember which commentator made this comment but it should resonate - Staines' speed allowed him to cover in defence. He really gave it a good go last night and keeps on incrementally improving. That is the type of player we need at WTs.
Ch9 is showing highlights of Renouf, Albert, Mullins. Pacey backs that is the key. Staines will walk into our backline.I like his attitude. He runs it back hard. I hope we do get him. I'm not convinced he is a walk up starter in our team though.
How good is To'o ? He is like a better version of Nofo.
For anyone interested - Jack Welsby tore Leeds to shreds for St. Helens in the SL Grand Final at Old Trafford today. Even the great Jonathon Davies described him as “Outstanding”. And that’s now in three consecutive Grand Final victories where in the first (aged barely 19) he won the game single-handedly in the last two seconds against Wigan and in the second shifted the momentum against a huge Catalans side and sent Saints home champions. Seriously, if you guys are looking for a difference maker - tell your owners to pick up the phone.
