Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The Bulldogs are circling Crichton as a potential fullback, while the Eels are lining up Martin, who has been in talks about a four-year extension at the Panthers.

Martin has been in negotiations with the Panthers for almost three months, but Penrith is baulking at the hard-running backrower’s asking price of just over $550,000 a season.

Panthers pair Staines and Leniu have also been linked with moves at the end of this season – and Wests Tigers are circling the pair.

Staines is expected to be part of a player swap with ex-Panther Tyrone Peachey once the grand final is over, while Leniu could be moved on because of Penrith’s tight salary cap.

The Dragons discussed making a play for Leniu, but have so far opted against it. (DT)

Need to sign Leniu before Bulldogs sign Crichton...otherwise the 'tight' cap space mightn't be so bad.

Why are we not trying to sign Martin is the big question.. 550k is a steal for a SOO player.
We have cash to burn and I would offer 650k just to at least make others increase there offers.

A lot of rewriting history there,Sheens was largely responsible for destroying our salary cap and completely responsible for signing Anasta and Blair. There were very good reasons for sacking him

I'm just stating facts the club has tanked since he left.

I don't really care about your personal feeling towards him.

This would be for 2024 right? Show them the money.

Plus had a crap team around him.

Reality is our club lost their shit when they punted sheens.

I don't begrudge any player for leaving I blame the club for poor management. Yes the club turned their finances around but football management has been disgusting and negligent since sheens left.
It was the same when he ws here - why did they let him screw our salary cap? As bad as each other imo and that's why I'm not a fan of his appointment.

100%, Sheens should have been let go earlier, the club crapped their pants when Penrith wanted him, so they re-signed him to a big multi year deal, when they should have dropped him off at Penrith and got a new coach

We should be taking Staines to get Leinu, and making Martin a decent offer as well, we can afford it

We were alot better when Sheens was here. People sooking about the 2012 season must be happy with the 10 years of pain since 2012.

I think history has shown sheens knows his footy compared to the people we tried to bring in since his left.

Sheens knows his footy and write off Marshall at your own peril. Good times ahead.

I have no personal feeling towards him,i have said many times that he was the right person to come to the club when he initially did but by the time he was sacked it was overdue. If anybody seems to have let personal feelings cloud their judgment it would be you as you don't seem to see ot are happy to ignore the massive amount of damage he did to our club.
