There's a lot of Black Orange & White in that post!
There were plenty on here saying Hynes was slow and rubbish and not good enough for us. No coincidence that alot of the perpetrators are the same blokes who consistently defend Luke Brooks and try and persuade people that he can playāMost peopleā here were asking why we didnāt make a play for Hynes.
Thereās always one or two that go against the grain, but I think your assessment is not how it went down.
In fairness to the club, we already had Hastings, Brooks and Doueihi + Laurie at fullback.
In the context of our squad and the positions we needed to fill, we looked at other options.
In fact, I think we were offering Mitchell and Addo-Carr at the time.
The current Brooks contract was signed under Maguire's tenureOne thing to note is we have stopped the back-ended contracts that got us into cap trouble all those years ago.
Yesā¦we have made dud purchases, but they havenāt been compounded by big yearly salary increases.
Overall, I think the club is more astute in managing the cap. Player selection has been the issue of lateā¦
Cleary picked 4 duds on big salaries which killed us for 3-4 years. Add Brooks who is being paid well above his worth and you have the 2022 Wests Tigers in a nutshell.
Finally, we are 1 year away from clearing the mess that was created by Ivan (mainly the Brooks contract) and we have some decent money to hit the market with.
Api and Papi are good value signings for what they will bring. The club did exceptionally well there.
I canāt believe the death riding that is going on!

So the reason we didnāt sign Hynes is a handful of forumers didnāt want him because of their love for Brooks? This. It was the usual Brooks fanboys who did what they always do the moment thereās someone who could replace him. They make passive aggressive comments and try to tear down the player. With Hynes, they said he was a system player.
Now heās the reigning Dally M player of the year and lead his team to the finals and is an all round top bloke. Meanwhile, weāre stuck with a mute halfback who hasnāt made finals in his entire career and lacks the basic skills of a first grade halfback.
paws, Jedi et al are all Brooks fans first, Tigers fans second. Too damn arrogant to admit they backed the wrong horse and would see the team suffer.
Not what I said at all so nice try, GNR. Just saying we've had to witness their flagrant stupidity and efforts over the years to tear down any player who could pose a potential threat to their boy.So the reason we didnāt sign Hynes is a handful of forumers didnāt want him because of their love for Brooks?
I dont think Hynes was ever comingSo the reason we didnāt sign Hynes is a handful of forumers didnāt want him because of their love for Brooks?
Being that he is an outsider. He could be traded into a side at any stage of the year.
Canāt they only do that on November 1?Dolphins sign Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow (Courier Mail)
How'd Luke Brooks go in the finalsWhy we sooking about Hyman.
How'd he do in the finals?
Not so good just like payten.
Yes it wasā¦did I insinuate something else? The current Brooks contract was signed under Maguire's tenure

Let me take a wild guess. You donāt like BrooksHow'd Luke Brooks go in the finals
I don't get this hate for Sheens. He presided over the only decent era of WT footy. We were crap before he came and crap after he left. When he was here we won the comp, probably should have won it twice! If you only take into account our position on the table, we may have been better in the short term but he was a major part of the long term pain to follow. His, and the club's letting him, over-spending put us in financial difficulties and the long years of suffering that have followed. Sheens was directly resonsible for the stupid decisions that followed but he played a huge part in the initial stuff ups.
I wish I had your blind faith but God is not real, neither is the messiah Sheens. He was a bad boy and may still be so.
I donāt. Itās spot on.I think your tin foil hat is too tight š
