I think if you are going to focus on youth and carry a few youngsters in your top 30, they will likely be on lower salaries. Then you can probably justify paying a little bit of overs for some senior players and hope they are the type of that can be difference makers or standard setters for your developing guys.

Maybe he is but Brooks isn’t a 7 he barely even passes as a 6. We need better.
Brooks better step up otherwise no point in keeping him. Wouldn’t bother negotiating with him until he actually performs. I would deal with Hastings first as he and Joffa are the only ones that are deserving to be extended based on their performances this year. Can’t say that for Brooks or the rest.

Sheens/Furner/Marshall and Farah have already made the decision. We should be grateful there are so many great footballing minds on this forum who believe they know better than this quartet.

I think the worst part of our plan was to not have sheens in from the start once Madge got punted. 6 months of wasted time....

Things can change when your losing
Sheens isn’t as brilliant as you think he is. One season under Brooks he’ll be wanting Newcastle to take him. Brooks is the worst 7 to play for this club and will never bring us success. Sheens won’t either we won’t be making the 8 with him and Benji is 50/50. Don’t know how he’ll be as a coach but I wish him luck and hopefully he makes the right decision to let go of Brooks he played alongside the bloke he knows he’s crap.

Stuart was quick. Not Mortimer quick, but quick enough to score length of the field tries in Origin, run 60 metres to win a test match. Can't stand the bloke, but he had decent speed for a 7.

4 premierships as coach. You have to remember no one wanted to coach us.
He’ll be a Knight in 24. If they decide to keep him than they want the club to suffer. Brooks has had the cattle to lead the club I’ll admit not every year but when he, Teddy and Moses played together he could’ve led the club to finals but he hasn’t. Bloke simply does not have what it takes to be a leader he isn’t a 7 or even close to a 6. The love you guys have for him is outrageous. No other club would’ve kept him as long as we have. He’ll never be the player we need to make the 8 let alone win a premiership. He’s simply does not have what it takes to lead us. You know it doesn’t look good for him when Hastings led more in one year than Brooks has in 9 seasons.
Don’t get me wrong I respect him for giving us a premiership and finals bound. But he’s not that brilliant. The results he had after he left us is proof. We may not come last under him, but he won’t coach us to another finals series.

"He'll be a Knight in 24." is your view. I've read that Sheens wants him to be a one club player. The following sentence you give yourself an out.
We'll be doing plenty of that next season
