Welsby would be a good fullback for us
He's a very weird player because at various points in a game he'll appear in the fullback, stand-off, loose forward and the centre position. And he's usually the best player in all of them. As has been mentioned - highly unorthodox. Scares defenders because he can go off script at any point. Modern coaches hate those guys because you can't set a pattern to shut them down. Just wait till he gets his man body because he's only just 21. Not physically mature. He'll be another Wighton - but with better hands.

I'm liking what Welsby is doing against Samoa. Although you forgot Herbie Farnsworth when you mentioned English backs handling the NRL bloke is a weapon
Not really as Farnsworth came over here when he was a teenager thus already adapted by the time he played NRL. Already better than 95% of english backs that have played in the NRL.
Welsby is usually a FB but thought he played well at 5/8 today.... might have over played his hand on the intercept but overall a good game from him. Williams was awesome today but he has been average playing for Warrington since he came back from Raiders.

If Kelly is so good why aren't the Knights chasing him?
The Knights are arguably the most dysfunctional team in the NRL. Pointless changing the coach because the players run that club. Nathan Brown nailed what was going on up there. Albert Kelly is a very good player. The only reason he's not better regarded is because he let himself down earlier in his career. Always been a very dangerous footballer. But until he went back to the Broncos he was 20lbs overweight. Fought his way into the team the hard way. The club did the dirty on him letting him go.

Williams would still be a good option in the NRL. I thought another NRL club may have tried to sign him.

Biggest surprise was Radley getting MOTM, even he seemed surprised ( embarrassed).

Well obviously Sheens and Co have seen something coz that is a name we never mentioned. Interesting to see what eventuates !

The abuse Williams took from Ricky's media puppets was terrible. The kid had done it tough living thousands of miles away from home with a young kid on the way. Loved the fact that some of his teammates came out in the media and stood up for him because I've never heard a single complaint about Williams' professionalism before or since. He's not had a great season for Warrington - but only because he returned to a totally dysfunctional team run by a second-rate coach who let the situation at the club boil over. You'll struggle to find any halfback with a better short kicking game. Lethal.

95% of recruitment talk has been around beefing up our forwards, and that has plenty of merit. Sheens has been quoted that we will be playing a attack based game in 2023 and beyond and that is also good to hear. My concern is our backline. Okay having forwards that can create second phase play and dent the defence will help, but Iam not sure how our current backline will respond. Certainly need at least one class back in our recruitment drive.

Also 99% of the pathway kids getting raps are forwards, Not hearing much about backs.
