If Brooks wants to go we need to make it happen now - crazy to persist any further given our current position on the table, and how much money he is "reportedly" going to cost next year.
Newcastle want him - just don't have much faith in the club to negotiate a deal that benefits us. Just get it done and then sort out Douehi Hastings and Laurie deals if in fact they are in their plans at all.

If our offer to Klemmer offer is independent of Brooks' contract situation (as suggested) I think it would be crazy to release him. Simply because what would do between now and next year with that cap space?
If the only way to secure Klemmer is to release Brooks (which does not seem to be the case) then I believe there is a fair argument to be made. I would still be reluctant and would definitely not do so until we secure a half for '24 be it Hastings or an outside recruit.

I don't think that it was aimed at just one individual and give benefit of doubt on what I have seen.

Personally read the initial @Earl one as a poor attempt at joking, but can also understand others taking it as otherwise.

David Klemmer
Tautau Moga
Angus Crichton
Kurt Falls
Jarule Salmon.

On the surface I do not see much fault in these players or any real reason why we cant sign them. I understand if we get Crichton, we might not be able to afford someon like Lodge, but I think these are kids who can help us finally get out of the basement who are still available.

What are your thoughts?

Any one of those would be great but I don't know the last 2.
