Instant uplift of speed.
Defensively we are shot but Sheens isn’t playing a defensive strategy.

I'm talking 2023.no guarantees Hastings will be here in 2024 either without Hastings at 13 you can't have AD and DL as running five eighths
So then why are they letting him go, (if in fact they are).Sheens and coaching staff don't share your opinion
My Penrith mate rates Staines much higher then Laurie. Thinks his ball playing is very good and he is a fullback, not winger. I'm not convinced but hope he is right.
He was the best fullback in NSW cup, so I guess short of signing an established NRL fullback, it's the next best option. He has spent the last few years watching how hard Edwards has worked to improve his game, so I think there is a fair chance Staines will work his butt off to make the 1 his own. I also believe Sheens will have Hastings controlling the middle from 13 with Laurie wearing the 7. Hastings and Laurie doing the short kicking with Doueihi doing the long kicking. Just what I think Sheens will do.
And also no guarantees on Laurie brooks or ADno guarantees Hastings will be here in 2024 either without Hastings at 13 you can't have AD and DL as running five eighths
Theres a lot of smarts in that spine.Instant uplift of speed.

13 Hastings
9 Api
7 AD
6 Laurie
1 Staines
That's a Sheens-esque spine, imo.
With the forwards you mentioned.
That can do some damage and compensate for our average backs.
agree so if Hastings signs say for the dogs in 2024 Hastings plays out his contract 2023 and goes in 2024I'm talking 2023.
If Hastings goes in 2024 as @pawsandclaws1 mentioned, we've got the two young ball playing locks in Chris & Justin ready to go.
Matamua has a first grade contract for 2024, yeah?
Why would matamua not be sheens ideal ball playing lockagree so if Hastings signs say for the dogs in 2024 Hastings plays out his contract 2023 and goes in 2024
but you are saying Brooks won't play out his 2023 contract and go on 2024 he has to go now
Matamua is not the ball playing lock Sheens would look for. If Brooks goes 2024 he will try for Moses as a 7

According to @Demps if you sign in 2024 you can be released in 2023Wouldn't br suprised if Hastings goes to Canberra or something. If Other better clubs will offer him a starting half position he'd go.
That would be for 2024 anyway.
Hopefully bt the matamua and also Chris Fa’agutu could replace at 13
Think we just need to settle on our half combo.
Hopefully Staines owns the 1.
Think there's going to be a crap load of movement
But isn’t your 7 the equivalent of the quarterback, gets things moving, organising plays etc. I’ve heard Peter Sterling and Joey Johns say many times that the 7 has a critical role.Theres a lot of smarts in that spine.
Api, genius.
AD, he's up there with Burton for best kickers in the game these days imo and hopefully continues to work on that in the off season amongst his other weaknesses.
Laurie, ball runner with some good footwork.
Hastings in the 13 directing the show and The Ferrari at the back, hopefully running the ball up fearlessly.
Get the right forwards in and the only direction is forward.
We don't need Brooks.
We need Klemmer and a few other hitters.
Hey Demps tell me how you really feel.🤣Exercise common sense.
Even if you don't believe the reports of this being the third time Brooks has asked for a release - where there is smoke, there is fire.
Pom has alluded to this information being factual so if you trust his sources, it's there for the taking.
Yeah, Sheens is a fan of him and wants to work with him.... but all signs are pointing to the feeling isn't mutual.
Adam plays 7, Laurie plays 6.
Hastings stays at 13.
See ya Brooks.
Problem solved.
Looks so much better without brooks.13 Hastings
9 Api
7 AD
6 Laurie
1 Staines

The quarterback role is Hastings, they’ve trialled that play style out this year and beat 2 top 4 teamsBut isn’t your 7 the equivalent of the quarterback, gets things moving, organising plays etc. I’ve heard Peter Sterling and Joey Johns say many times that the 7 has a critical role.
I’m not saying that Brooks is the right answer just that you need someone very capable in that role or the spine is very wobbly.
Cleary, Hynes, Moses, etc.
Hastings hasn't requested 3 releases....agree so if Hastings signs say for the dogs in 2024 Hastings plays out his contract 2023 and goes in 2024

Hastings will re-sign unless we don't want him (can't imagine that situation). He implied in an interview somewhere that it's not good to change clubs so often as it hurts your personal development. If he left after 2023, that would be 4 clubs in 6 years. I imagine he wants to stay longer to see where one particular path can take him.Hastings hasn't requested 3 releases....
He's openly stated he wants to stay at the Tigers and be apart of what we're building.
What I'm saying.... is, imo... Brooks is as good as gone.
I'm basing this on the information we've been told and confirmed by @THE_POM ... can you think the media backlash around us denying a player a release two years in a row when he's desperately wanting out? All we heard on 360 this year was how Brooks and the club need to part ways and its best for all parties involved, especially Brooks. Think of the mental anguish if would put one through being forced to play on at a club he clearly does not want to be at? Think of how that would effect his performances? (Lolllll) is that the narrative Sheens wants in the media?
Sometimes it's easier and for the best to just let something go, no matter how much you (or Sheens)loves it, especially if it doesn't love you back.
If he hasn’t spoken with Moses already, which is my take on it.agree so if Hastings signs say for the dogs in 2024 Hastings plays out his contract 2023 and goes in 2024
but you are saying Brooks won't play out his 2023 contract and go on 2024 he has to go now
what I am getting at is it makes zero sense to release Brooks in 2023 he has said all along he wouldn't be release so that changes this week?? As pom has said the klemmer deal has nothing to do with Brooks signing for 2024
