Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

AD would only be in Moses ear about coming to the Tigers if he was staying too.

Clarkey posted some nonsense.
Theyre probably in no rush because a deals already worked out.

I'll be very surprised if AD leaves.
Brooks though, he's got one foot out already.
Who would take Douhie anyway? Still has to develop his game. Hel get takers but not at big coin.

What's your preferred outcome with the 'halves'* we have @Demps , and with the possibility of Moses joining?

7. Moses
6. AD
13. Hastings

?

* IMO we genuinely don't have any halves (bar Brooks, and I'm not suggesting he stays/should be the halfback)

It's interesting one re AD, I would be surprised if he left.

You would think if he really wanted to stay though he wouldn't have hesitated to get talks flowing & would've been extended already.

Maybe its already been done we are just picking when to make the announcement, but knowing our place that would've leaked out already.

In saying the above there was something pushed out a while back & POM also commented that AD apparently was the one who said he won't be discussing things until after Nov 1.

Who knows maybe Benji doesn't see him as a 5/8th & that doesn't sit well with AD given the comments on wanting Brooks, Laurie 5/8th rumours & how active we have been chasing a few halves players as well.

Maybe AD is waiting on how the halves pairing will play out.
Maybe we are waiting on Brooks decision to then drive how we would structure a deal for AD

All we know so far in fanland is out of all our spine players off contract end of 23 right now it's been the most quite on AD front which normally isn't a positive thing retention wise

Peoples thoughts on whether Feledy is good enough to take a centre position in 2024?
Impossible to tell so far out. Come back halfway through next season and let's see where he's at.

He has been an elite level centre at junior level. Now just needs to carry that on to mens footy. Wouldn't surprise me if he's in FG considerations for 2024 though come this time next year. He could even debut next year if injuries hit.

Easy as that bra.

I wouldn't be opposed to Hastings leaving if it gets us Moses.

Nathan Brown can play 13 for a year until Matamua is ready.

Most outside backs will have debuted before they are 21 and many of them at 19 if they are going to be top class. If you reach 21 and haven't debut then your unlikely to amount to much. Obviously always exceptions but for outside backs esp that's usually the case

Brown is busted though & his current deal is massive.

We don't need to sign Brown if Hastings was to leave we could grab someone else.
However if it means we get Moses in 23 and Brown has to come we would be silly not to do it provided we have roster spots to take him on.

I do think Hastings is important though he just offers us options that I just don't see others on the free market can offer us what Hastings can unless one of the kids steps up which is a big if atm.

Some one like that.
Not necessarily Brown.

I want to see Hastings at 13 for a full season.
But yeah, I'm sure he has some thoughts on where he'd like to play.

A lot to unfold.
