Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

But they love peddling the "Newcastle desperately want Brooks" story 18 months before he was available
Great point that's another thing they seem to be ok with, as long as it's not the Tigers doing the wheeling and dealing, iv been at it with Parra supporters all day on Facebook. They're all hypocrites, they still think they will make the gf next year, told them they're delusional, they kept saying Tigers were the basket case of the N.R.L. So I reminded them that Fitzgerald the week of the 2001 gf was in the media saying all up it was a 120 mil investment 12 mil a year for 10 years to get to that point. That was 20 years ago so who knows how much more has been spent since then. With bugger all to show for it. But were the basket case cause we won a comp in 05 about 600k under the cap.

I would just love to see Moses and D Brown sign elsewhere for 2024. Don't care who wwith. It would be worth just to see the meltdown at Parra. They are on very thin ice at the moment and if this were to happen it would destroy them for another 30 years.

Lodge intends to re-sign with the roosters and willing to take a "pay cut" (DT)

There is a small minority of magpie supporters who can't stand WT and they generally only follow wests magpies. There is also a small minority of balmain tiger diehards who refuse to embrace WT ( checkout a couple of the balmain tigers facebook pages ). I'm pretty sure most on here support WT even though the us Vs them pops up now and then. Most of that angst comes from how the club is perceived from other supporters and the media. Wests magpies will never be back in the NRL nor will Balmain.
If die hard 'only' Balmain or Magpie supporters don't give a rats about WT, why do you bother on this forum. I loved my Tigers and cried in those 88 and 89 losses. But I've embraced the new club and hurting just as much as all those years ago. Please don't get on the bandwagon when success arrives.. Apologies long day at work

Just my observations over the years, nearly 77 now, but still find it hard to understand how most tiger supporters immediately accepted the new identity of the WestTigers, but the West Magpies where never so happy to Greet the Tiger side of things.
The committee at our club has always been in the control of WEST.
And as we all now know the Balmain name has always been looked down on by West supporters.

And now we find one side of the joint venture
( BALMAIN ) is now totally broke, from what we have been told.
And I cannot see how the NRL can keep Western Suburbs from totally taking full control when they are the only ones putting money into the team.
Also Dennis, remember it Wests had not of amalgamated with Balmain, they would not have been in the NRL as their financials back then were not as good as Balmains. We are a joint venture now & that is all ancient history. 🙂

2 nightmares from the past, the only beer worse than them in NSW was Millers but i still miss my Tooheys Flag
Flag Ale is better than Millers and definitely better than Courage Draft. I worked for Claude Fays Cellars in Canley Vale back in the day. They ordered in a pallet of Courage Draft. We didn't sell a single can. 6 months later they came & removed the pallett of Courage and gave us a new pallett of Courage. Claude Fays Cellars didn't last long - they became Vintage Cellars.

That would be amazing. Poetic justice.
