Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Mole

Newcastle are prepared to release their two most experienced - and highest paid - forwards in a desperate bid to spice up their roster for next season.

It's been well known for some time that player of the year David Klemmer doesn't get on with coach Adam O'Brien and is available to rival clubs for next season.

But Wide World of Sports has also learnt that the club is shopping around powerhouse former Blues Origin and Kangaroos forward Tyson Frizell to rival clubs.

The Knights want to move the pair on and bring in some new blood to freshen up their squad.

They remain in the hunt for Tigers halfback Luke Brooks who is at the top of their shopping list.

The Tigers are interested in Klemmer but have rejected the idea of a swap with Brooks.

Brooks seems certain to sign for the Knights for 2024 and the Knights are then hoping they can negotiate an early release for next season.
Frizell has been a very good player for a long time but he is near the end. If he was anywhere at his best no doubt he would be wanted by the Knights.

He was still playing well last year in a poor side.

Can play 80 minutes if required, has an offload, pretty good defender, runs 110m a game and can score a try. A two season deal would be the maximum I would offer.

Get this done Wests Tigers.

Klem and frizell would be perfect for our young players.

If we sign both of them there will be no room for our young players.
we need competition for spots and experience. both of them provide that in spades. our back row depth outside of Papali'i is Blore, Tumeth and Seyfarth. that is horrendous. Frizell would be perfect.

as for the front row the second Twal and Utoikamanu went down we were skint. Pole is a great prospect but he can't do it all on his own. Klemmer pushes everyone down the order which provides competition for spots, which we haven't had.

Andrew John’s said whilst commenting a Newcastle game this year on channel 9 - “Frizelle is so tough he plays with a needle before every game and can’t train during the week”

Why would we want that?

I’m sure the tigers management didn’t hear that comment so we’ll probably take him.

Anyone know what injury it was
