Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Maybe the reason the Brooks decision is delayed is because Sheen might have a replacement in mind and waiting on them to commit before releasing him a year early if he has committed to Knights for 24. It's fair to say Brooks is going in 24 otherwise the extension would of been done already.
I cannot wait for the WC to finish so all can be sorted out.

Players evolve. Laurie plays like a second 5/8 from 1. He has a great pass, good instincts and vision, pace and is a good defender.

You make it sound like he's re-invented the wheel....
FB's have been a second 5/8 since the Lockyer days... Probably perfected by Slater.
It goes with the turf now.

He's not good enough at either....
Unless of course you're talking for the Magpies.

9 Koroisau
13 Hastings
7 Brooks
6 Laurie
1 Stains

I think Brooks is gone mate. If you swap out Brooks and put Doueihi there we may actually see that.

I'm assuming Brooks is gone and Klemmer is coming. I have no inside information but that is what I think will happen. I reckon Bateman will happen as well.

If this all happens it's all going to be on Hastings because Doueihi and Laurie will just be running 6's as Brooks really is as well.

I wonder how Brooks will go if they have Ponga at 6 as well. They might win some games.

One of the worst memories I have is watching the Tigers play the Gold Coast and Lewis walked around the park and killed us.

When he was on he was special. A couple of players I've seen live that were guns and he was one of them.
I remember that game at Leichhardt when Wally was well past his prime but still good enough to beat us on his own. Best ever.

100% correct. We have unproven players all over the park but especially the spine. It's awesome right.

It's like when I managed people. I had no idea and I just sort of made stuff up and hoped no one would notice.

Can get away with that with key people in key positions that make sure the job is done the way it needs to be done...

Biggiest question/issue for the club.

Who are the halves going to be over the next two years.

It's a massive issue. Atm all our options are ordinary. I think Hastings is our best option but he is slow and he has no long kicking game. People hack Brooks kicking game but Brooks was clearly the main long kicker because he was the best out of the bunch of them.

I like Doueihi but he was ordinary last year and he needs to prove he is up to it.

Laurie is as stated an unproven fullback and might go okay as a running 6.

This was written by you today -

"Doueihi is a better fullback than Laurie".

I have watched Daine since Penrith brought him down. He deservedly leap frogged plenty of good players to play 5/8 at cup level. I am still a fan of Daine but he hasn’t kicked on how I thought he would. He really needs to get everything in order off the field as well. Playing pokies until 11pm the night before a game (not the worst thing an nrl player has done) just says his preparation is poor and not where it should be. I think both Sheens and Benji will be great for Daine. Here’s hoping he plays to his potential.
