Bateman didn't exactly leave Canberra on good terms. He has the stink of mercenary about him. Spent nearly a full year injured demanded ridiculous extension and asked for release 4 times when the Raiders wouldnt come to tge party then cried homesick to get out of the contract
Might be worth a risk but seeing we are already forking out 250k dead money for a transfer fee.aside from his contract money he has plenty to prove on the field before we make any more allowances for him off the field.

In my opinion The Pom has the best information on this site. I am basically 99% confident he only releases information sanitized via the club.

Yes, that's a worry. Apisi will be the organiser, and probable captain. He will run the plays, i hope Brooks role will be to follow him, with Stains hanging around the ruck. But this is just guessing and hoping like all of us.

I like how Paws is positive. I think it's awesome. I just can't see Laurie being a proven option in the halves at NRL level. Maybe it will work but I have zero confidence.

I listen to listen to coaches like Sheens, Cleary, Bellamy, Bennett and Payten. I also listen to what Gould has to say as he recruited Laurie. I leave Maguire to you.

He comes across as a signing to make when you have a tonne of money and want to tell the boss you've done something. I seriously don't get it.
Well there is a different coaching structure in place .so we will know next year

Players evolve. Laurie plays like a second 5/8 from 1. He has a great pass, good instincts and vision, pace and is a good defender.

Interesting comments re: Laurie.
I think his best position is wing.
On the smaller side with good footwork like Renouf.
They played him on wing for the PM13s game.
Doesn't have the skills to be 6 imo and is an average 1...
Hoping he shows improvement next year though.

Another one of my favourite players. He was a centre unlike any I've seen. We don't have any players that are within cooee of being at that level.
Maybe the reason the Brooks decision is delayed is because Sheen might have a replacement in mind and waiting on them to commit before releasing him a year early if he has committed to Knights for 24. It's fair to say Brooks is going in 24 otherwise the extension would of been done already.
I cannot wait for the WC to finish so all can be sorted out.

FB's have been a second 5/8 since the Lockyer days... Probably perfected by Slater.
It goes with the turf now.
He's not good enough at either....
