Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Klemmer / Hastings swap doing the rounds now on social media.

Says a lot if the club is making that move.

Leads me to believe the powers that be must truly not like him that much....

It's whatever though.

We lose him and keep Brooks, we are the real losers in that situation.

17 clubs actively recruiting & trading
players yet we're the only ones the
media talks about for weeks, the
wooden spooners. Makes you think.
Both Brooks & Hastings are signed for
Next year, makes you think what or who
is behind all this. Seems more than
just agitation going on behind the scenes.
I don't believe that Doueihi story for one sec
We let Jock go and don't have a half
Replacement. Why would we release
when the Rumours were Brooks was going to Newcastle plenty on here were like sure no problem release him for 2023
All of a sudden with Hastings oh no that can't be true
Reason for this rumour is likely because sheen does not view Hastings as a 7 but a 13 and Hastings does not want to play 13 and wants to play 7. Newcastle can provide that 7 role for Hastings and tigers can get klemmer.
When we land Bateman he can play 13
No mention of Douhie going in 2023 either as we have no replacements for douhie or Brooks in 2023

It must be confirmed then! 😁

Here is an article which provides Sheens'/Marshall's thoughts on Brooks. They have stated his contract will be reduced if he extends which may address some concerns. Shades of Chris Lawrence - one club player.

As for Hastings, it is not his first rodeo so I wish him luck at the Knights.

Very hard to see what there thinking with this 1

But my guess is there brining in Nathan brown to play 13 witch I don’t hate

And they have a half signed for 2024

And they have a lot of faith in the 2 young locks we have matimua and I cannot remember the other players name but he’s from qld

Hastings sees him self as a half so he is going to a club where he can play his preferred position I just hope we have enough leadership around the place without him

Doueihi set to manage himself

Wests Tigers playmaker Adam Doueihi is taking over his own management and has placed a hefty price tag on his services.

Doueihi has been selling himself as a No.7 or No.6 to a rival club and is after a three-year deal worth at least $900,000 a season. I’ve been told by those with knowledge of the situation he wants a minimum of $850,000 for the first season, with his price going up in future years.

With a dearth of quality No.7s in the competition, it’s a good tactic, but it remains to be seen if a club will go for that price. He is a quality player, but has had knee issues in the past. Even with healthy legs, he is going to need a breakout season to reach that level of income.

There are about half-a-dozen $1 million halves in the NRL, headed by Nathan Cleary, Cameron Munster and Daly Cherry-Evans, but Doueihi is not in that class.

The Tigers’ roster is better than it has been and if he can cash in on good service from the likes of Api Koroisau, Jackson Hastings and maybe Luke Brooks he may mount a case for an upgrade.

If I was the boss I'd say to Doueihi your doneeeeeeihi.

I read an article a few months ago about a trend of players (or family members) managing their own contracts.

I can't find it online but it was off the back of Kayln's father playing hardball with the Knights over his contract.

If AD wants to manage his own contract and believes he's worth $900K, good luck to him.

The market will decide his value. But I have to respect him for taking his career into his own hands.

NRL player managers are up there with shonky used car salesmen, real estate agents and some Aussie journalists.
