Douiehi is on 650K in a 10M salary cap. Roughly 6.5% of the cap.
The rumoured new cap is 12.4M. 850K would mean 6.85% of the cap. It's a reasonable increase when you consider his current contract.

Theory is sound, the pay increase would be equivalent to his share of the cap increase.

Unfortunately he is overpaid at the moment, and does not justify the current percentage of the cap that he is getting

Who really cares, the Knights are as desperate as us to get success. They are a rabble just like us.

They have been chasing Brooks for a reported 12mths and couldn't get it done by the sounds of things & they threw big money at him.

People keep forgetting that Hastings is being chased by the bottom of the table clubs as the 2nd/3rd choice recruitment target option atm, we need to have a hard look as to why that is the case. If he was good as some on here make it out he would be chased hard by the top 8 clubs rather than next in line behind Brooks and others.

I just don't see Hastings being a halfback at an NRL club and taking them to extended finals success within the NRL within the next few years.

You can have all the pedigree you want but the fact remains that he has not achieved any sort of success in over 10 years in RL, was sacked from this club and another with poor roster decisions being one of the many reason at BOTH clubs.

So lets not pretend that Sheens is some master administrator or coach these days. I respect what he has done for both Canberra and us but you can't keep living in the past.

He's not an amateur.
