Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If George Williams is prepared to come back to the NRL (I know he played for Raiders and believe he left due to home sickness) I would sign him up on big dollars. He is a class half back.

Stephen Crighton has x-factor written all over him and he is a decent Goal Kicker and Drop Kicker. He could play full back in my opinion. I would try and sign him as well.

If we get Williams then to let Knights take Brooks, AD and Hastings for Klemmer. He is a quality prop and one we need.

dogs signed 40 players - cap space isn't their problem. some more medical retirements coming from a few clubs I'd say
Possibly, however i was alluding more to the way they seem to be in the market for every available player and how their numbers don’t seem to add up.
They are tapping a few on the shoulder it seems, and we really don’t know how many of the 40 you mention are actually in their top 30 with ratified NRL contracts.
I am sure Gus has known about the increase in the cap and has been buying up/spending accordingly.

Good plan….

I was so excited to see 10 pages of content since lunch time! Made a tea and sat down ready to read..........is that the best we can do as a forum of West Tigers tragics?

With respect to Douiehi, I cant see him playing 6 if Sheens is happy to let Hastings walk. Hastings has a great footy brain but he can hardly run and his service is far too slow to compete with the strong teams.

I expect a few surprises in the line up come round one as Sheens isnt scared to give an up and comer with good speed and skill a chance, particularly if they have trained well.

I dont really care who we sign, as I have said before there arent many in the squad who can feel safe over the last couple of years and anyone with First Grade experience is an improvement.

What's with the addressing by Christian names?
You've done it with me... You get into a debate and resort to this.... Strange
Sorry I just know you and FG personally....You can all call me by my name if you like...I dont have anything to hide,,,I have always been quite open as you know at the get togethers...I dont resort to anything ...I do however stick to my opinion whether you,FG or other members differ....

Heard a story today about a Broncos young gun who signed a 3 year deal for 2023-25 and he's already trying to get out of it! He changed management to Riolo's mob just after he signed the deal, they shopped him around and got better offers, now they're playing the coercion card and the old broken promises routine. Two guesses who made the offers...
I've also been told WT have met with just about the who's who of players available for 2023 and player managers are only too happy to talk because of the dollars involved. I have no idea who, or even if, anyone has actually agreed to anything but at least we're out there trying.

I’m just gunna say it

Hastings ain’t as good as our fans make him out to be
No,
But better than Brooks.

And only cost 30% of Brooks pay.

A little bit different to the nufties Brooks has had to steer around the park.
Zero wins at halfback in 2022. Most games played at halfback without playing finals.

You can't keep blaming cattle. He was still the weakest link with Moses and Tedesco alongside him.

It's all been said before by multiple people so there is no point arguing about it. Sheens has a horrible record of choosing halfbacks since 2006 with Johnny Cronk, Tom Humble, Braith Anasta - it looks like that will continue.

Benji Marshall will also have a say in player recruitment for contracts extending into 2025.

Soooo….
He was our “leader” when he was 19, less than 10 games in the NRL and Farah was club captain and Anasta halves partner…
I was refering to him BEING the one to lead HIS team around as per his hype after the debut.....sorry I was a bit vague on that point...he has had at least 6/7 years to make his mark on the team though...
