I'm not a brooks fanboy - i'm one of the few who think Brooks, Douehi and Hastings are all shit. The sooner the club rids itself of all 3 the better.

How much of a pay rise will Hastings get at the Knights.

Want it to be a Chris Lawrence style restructure.
Spread out over 3 years.

About $300k more than his deal for next year.

Hastings has scored himself a hefty pay rise with the Knights.
Once it was clear that Brooks wasn’t going to be released for 2023 Knights changed focus.
Sheens met with Hastings management & made the point very clear that his future was at 13.
It moved fast from there.
The hope is to build a forward pack that Brooks can actually play off.
Bateman deal will be finalised in the week but he will be here.
Very early talk for Brooks but the club would hope to present a restructured deal for 2 year extension but a reduced rate.

Very important meeting with Moses management next week where a formal offer is expected to be presented.

Matamua expected to be elevated to top 30.

Now that it seems we are a big chance to get Klemmer and Bateman, I am going to say it again. I think that Sheens and Co have done a remarkable job with our roster since the end of the season.
Look at the players we have lost and the guys coming in taking their place- it’s a big turnaround in quality.
I am excited that we are heading in the right direction.
Now we need our coaching staff to be able to unify this squad, build confidence and get the most out of each player. If we can get 100% effort and desire and a hunger to win, I am positive we will be a vastly improved team.

Actually....Nonu came very, very close.

Nonu very nearly joined the NRL in 2008 after he was left out of the All Blacks’ 07 World Cup squad, and was convinced by Benji Marshall and Tim Sheens to join Wests Tigers.

The All Blacks centre told his agent to sign the deal with the Tigers, only to be told to take a week to consider his decision and then change his mind.

Actually though Jordan Kahu himself screwed us and Broncos were the beneficiary. There's nothing Broncos could have done to get his contract had he not weaseled out of his Tigers deal.
