Just remember the Williams we have been watching for the past few weeks is very different from the one that left the Raiders.
Maybe English conditions suit more ie pace of the game not as quick.
He was pretty mediocre when he left.

What do you think about it

I thought Hastings was an astute recruitment. He’s a half back so it was a decision about the style of half Benji wants. Have to look at recruitment and retention as a whole. I also suspect Brooks will be extended and his halves partner is not on the roster. I can’t see Benji wanting Douihei in the halves either. I like him as a centre that’s he’s position since the injuries.

So far deals done and or to be finalised:

Papalli > Luciano
Bateman> Garner
Api > Liddle

Not really. Klemmer and Bateman but it’s out there already.

This is a good way to look at it. I'm concerned about Bateman but we are desperate for an edge backrower.

Some big upgrades in Klemmer and especially Api. Papalli is a gun player as well. Luc was real good as well but Papalli is better.

Next year will be interesting.

Hastings has a Cherry-Evans aura about him when he speaks, I can imagine team mates being irked by it.

Yeah he seems to have a knack for rubbing people the wrong way. I love his attitude when it comes to playing but it doesn’t seem great for team morale.

Geezus he left because Sheens doesn't want him and Newcastle do. He has done nothing to deserve being bagged out for that. If anything by going it ensures the club gets Klemmer now with a full preseason and Sheens can start his campaign to focus on Brooks career revival

This is a good way to look at it. I'm concerned about Bateman but we are desperate for an edge backrower.

We should have 3 spots left on the roster if we can fill them with Bateman, Klemmer and Nathan Brown it’s the best offseason recruitment in Wests Tigers history. I hope we keep big Ken he’s rumoured to be going back to NZ.

Please - if Sheens saw him as our future 13 he would have blocked him from going, would be negotiating a contract extension and wouldn't have gone after Bateman. He is a 7 and always has been but he was never going to be our 7 while Brooks and Sheens are at the club. Newcastle going after Hastings couldn't have gone any better for Sheens - probably instigated it himself.

Jacko has the right to want to play 7.

Sheens also has the right to not play him 7....and not offer him a long term deal.

Neither are to blame and Jacko had every right to accept 7 'and' long term after we did not offer him it.

Long term we will see who was right.

Personally, I'd have much rather kept Hastings...and sent Brooks to Knights.

Let's hope Sheens has backed the right horse.
