Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Who the Tigers star fuming about Jackson? From Buzz.

Can't read it but honestly glad they are sticking up for their mates but also can they stick up for the club and fans and not let in 70+ points in. Game.

Not one player at this team should be cranky about anything. The fact they are getting good money should make them appreciative.

I wonder if part of why Staines has only signed for 12 months is so he can prove that he deserves a big money/fullback deal? I assume we offered him winger money and an extension at signing time? Anyone know?

Think you're on to something.

He on decent coin now too although subsidised by Peachy.

But that be the strategy show benji you're the ling term fullback.

A number of pages back on this Forum someone confirmed it was Daine Laurie.

Can't see why anyone would be upset by the Tiger's treatment of Hastings. He:
  • got upgraded. More $$$
  • got a longer deal. 1 more year to 3 more
  • gets to play preferred position. 13 -> 7
I think we did the right thing by him. I know we got Klemmer out of it, but it was definitely a win for Hastings too.

Unpopular opinion...

Don't mind the Woods signing.
He's depth and will likely play cup.
Get a call up when needed.

Sheens likes an experienced forward as depth- ala Ray Cashmere.

Woodsy will do a job when needed.
Don't care if he's fat and slow or yas don't like him.
Won't cost much and I truly think he'll be good to have around the club.

One thing we do have from our dev/pathways into top 30 squad is Props. Tuki Simpkins, Fainu. Dev players. Christian Ma'anaima, Kitione Kautoga and ahead of them is Pole, Uto, J’offa, Twal and Klemmer. Not sure if it would be train & trail for Woods.

exactly i just cant fathom this thought on what sheens is thinking here
It cant be his form. The only thing that I can put it down to is talk on the field. He has got the DNA that Sheens is keen on assembling - surrounding himself with returned ExWTs - and will be a senior player who has some history with the club who would fit the leadership role. Despite how dirty fans are at Woods it seems he is well liked in NRL circles.

If Pole loses his spot because of a Woods signing I'd be pissed.

I don't get the Woods signing. We have Klemmer, Pole, Joe O, Matamua, Stef, Twal, Blore & Seyfarth all looking for a spot in the middle for us.

I would prefer Seyfarth over Woods.

You could even add Asitasi James, Ma’anaima and Sione Fainu to the list.

We have Brooks in the halves who has struggled to make a positive impact his whole time in first grade plus two guys in Doueihi and Laurie who could have very limited first grade careers.

Surely we could use the spot for another player in a different position.

The only argument for getting him back to me is that props do get injured a lot. It's a tough position.
