Can't believe they allowed that Japan goal
That ball was practically in Saudi Arabia. They reviewed that and still let it stand. Japan’s cheque must have cleared.

You are comparing a sport that has maybe 30 nations worldwide playing to another that has over 200 nations worldwide ....and just remember Football is the 3rd ranked football code in this countryBut is that translating into adult-level success?
You can have a million kids playing soccer but it won't get you far if they are not funded and the pathways stink.
Rugby league on the other hand - very successful in turning promising junior talents into world-class players.
And the VAR for the handball yesterday ....that was complete stupidity ....don't they know the rulesThat ball was practically in Saudi Arabia. They reviewed that and still let it stand. Japan’s cheque must have cleared.
Do you mean soccer? You are comparing a sport that has maybe 30 nations worldwide playing to another that has over 200 nations worldwide ....and just remember Football is the 3rd ranked football code in this country
I know we will never get this answer ...but can you imagine if the best from every code played football in Australia how good we would be
FootballDo you mean soccer?
I still think it’s probably a goal. That ball was practically in Saudi Arabia. They reviewed that and still let it stand. Japan’s cheque must have cleared.

So the rule is based on looking at the ball from directly above?I still think it’s probably a goal.
Just because the bottom of the ball is out doesn’t mean the whole thing is over the line.
So this is classed as 'in'?
Yeah, the entire ball has to be completely over the line, not just the bottom of the ball.So the rule is based on looking at the ball from directly above?
Strange
The way I see it I think Albo should consider “restructuring” sport in Aust. banning ALF would be the start. The ALF players would have 4 options: Cricket (Pace bowling), High jump, Soccer or jail. Most of our best talent leaves the country before they get into an A-League seniors club colours.

Yoss, it's the whole of the ball. So the whole sphere . . . not just the part that's on the ground.I’ve been operating on the understanding that if the ball itself has past the line it’s out - that is if the ball itself is no longer touching the line it’s out. I don’t know how you could reasonably make rulings on it in real-time otherwise.
