Sounds like Uncle Nick and Easts now have a challenger for their successful business model which most clubs cannot compete with in terms of 3rd party deals.

WT need to find some very wealthy supporters.

They are also major sponsor of the Budogs, which means they cannot provide TPA’s to them. At least that’s what our club was told 🙄

Everything comes back to the system we have in place, that was introduced to spread talent, make teams more even and stop clubs going broke. It would appear the only thing that has worked is, no club has gone belly up, although a few came close.

As nothing is likely to change in the near future because certain teams sway massive influence over how the comp is run, the only answer is to follow the lead of certain teams and do the same. Bend the rules or even break the rules is the only way forward, along with a really good pathways systems

If he can get more elsewhere good luck to him. If you are referring to Brooks if he stays his deal will be restructured similar to what occurred with Chris Lawrence. He will be a one club player like Lawrence which is a fine achievement,

In general

Best Players should be on the Best Salary.

Is brooks our Best Player, Would Mitch Moses be our Best player? If so then there are no issues

Two clubs, Sydney based that have really fought to break out of the mould is the Rabbitohs (little brother of the highly fancied and Publicised Easts Team) and Penrith (Same deal with the much larger profile Parramatta)

I read on the Parra forum that they provide shares in the Laundy Group of pubs as 3rd party deals.

How true that is who knows.

They would be 2nd party deals due to the relationship Laundy Group has with the club. My understanding is that 2nd party deals are registered with the nrl and limited to a specified monetary value?
3rd party deals otoh, are a matter for the arms length entity and the player, and have no such restriction.
