Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Probably not 900 but maybe we contribute some cash to get the deal done

Why would we pay one cent for Doueihi's contract ? Moses would be on more than Doueihi and he is at Parra. If it's for 24 then both their contracts are going to be new contracts.

The point is that Parra would have to agree to swap Moses for Doueihi next season and probably Parra would have to offer him a new and upgraded contract. We wouldn't chuck in for that. Doueihi could decide to leave for the same money he is on now and Parra would gain some space in their cap.

There would be so much to happen for this to occur though.

If we do sign Moses then maybe they can get him a year earlier but Parra didn't give up Stef or IP after we signed them.

Does Parra even want Doueihi ?

I reckon playing next to Burton, and already having a playing relationship with Mahoney would be tempting for Moses. They are short a couple of players but I think we would be very happy to have all of their recent upgrades - and if they get Crichton as well they will there abouts.
Why would that be any different playing next to his childhood friend Brooks, service from Api and his playing relationship with IP?

He chose to leave his childhood mate once you would have to ask him that question - not everything revolves around Luke Brooks.
Based on what Burton has shown to date I would say any 7 would be tempted to play beside him. Together they would have one the strongest kicking games in the competition aside from their other skills.

so moses got a clause that he can stay an eel in 2024. so that means we wont get him till 2025 if he does sign on?

No.

The clause is in his favour so he gets to decide whether he takes it up or not.

If we were to sign him it would be for 2024, unless the clubs could negotiate an early release for 2023.

What difference does it make if Lee says he's confident or not? Either Dogs beat the Tigers deal, or are a better proposition, or they are not.

You really reckon word gets back to Bulldogs that Lee H is confident, via some rando at the Fan Day, so then they up their offer?
People jumping at shadows. If that was their aim I’m pretty confident his management would be taking the offer back to the dogs themselves to get more money, not relying on chinese whispers from an Internet forum 😆

All the club can do is negotiate in good faith and judge by the feedback they receive from the other party. Sounds positive to me.

Iam talking 2023. What I am saying is maybe Parra might consider moving on Moses if they get something out of the deal. Iam sure they would not touch AD at 900 but maybe we pick up some of contract they might be interested. Anyway the chances are he will be off to Belmore so it really doesn’t matter

Yep that his I see this playing out SC

That is the thing. Doueihi is after big bucks on his next contract. It's not for next season. Parra would get cap relief if they swapped Moses for Doueihi for next season all other things being equal. Sure we might be able to chuck in more money to sweeten the deal but there would be a lot of stuff to happen for that to work.

I honestly don't think it matters though. Just try and get him for 24 and see what happens from that point on.

He’s had that same playing relationship with pap and stef to a less extent

I really don’t know how to feel it seems very out in the open right now - doubt even Moses knows where he wants to go.... however seems like we’ll find out within the next fortnight

The quick timing of his expected decision before the start of the year gives me some confidence he might be coming here as we’ve been chasing him pretty hard - the fact we’re also delaying Bateman’s signing too (both players managed by Isaac Moses) gives me extra hope as we might be trying to figure out how we’re gonna structure both contracts

Bulldogs noise is getting a little louder recently, but they seem to have there attention at Stephen Crithcon... with Ciraldo having a close bond with him too

Parra seem to be overlooked too - he very well could go back but the word around town is that won’t be the case... interesting times ahead

Lee's an easy target.

But he's not the reason we haven't landed the big fish.

The fact we're perpetually unsuccessful and extremely undesirable is.
What's easy got to do with it? Would these players came without lee talking? No. But the things he speaks about recruitment is not the time or the place in the media. Pascoe and him need to be on a leash and worry less about the players and more about their actually duties.
