Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

you're confirming hes staying at eels?
i am putting 2 and 2 together. if he had or was signing with us, we would know by now. the time taken and what others have said about how Brown's deal is structured, suggests to me we are stuffed. I also think lee Fedora's mail is good and he says we aint signing him (he has said Eels are having another go at it... if he was coming.. it would have been done by now... so to me its the same thing..) if i read correctly.

I am pretty disappointed , but thats how i see it, but at same time just pointing out longer term this could be the best outcome for us anyway.

When you think about it, we would have been in holding pattern all of next season waiting for him to arrive in 2024...now we get to see what we have and Sheens & Marshall gets to work through the juniors. One thing Sheens was good at was identifying and retaining juniors (excepting for the Fifita/Groat F/up).

Please Stop.

Someone on this forum stated this but another person who posted about being at the same event said they didn't even see Lee there.

Lee hasn't said anything publicly about this 90% figure.

There have been basically no leaks at all about Moses.
Yep. Saw Lee at the members BBQ and he arrived at the end and stood with his minder so doubt he would have said anything to anyone . Besides think he has learnt his lesson and is now very careful not to say anything about signings and therefore the club from the highest level are all on the same page. As Forum members we probably hate there are no leaks now (I do) so we just got to trust the club now and respect they are doing there best with the $ we can spend to get players that best fit the plan for the future. At least now there appears to be a plan and a clear direction of the style of footy WT are gonna play ..I say let the player cards fall and get on with business

I think my point has been misconstrued.
I don’t have a problem with the 2 junior teams. And hopefully going forwards they do go on to form the bulk of the combined Flegg side.
My point was over the past 5 years the majority of players in Flegg were not from our junior Balmain and Wests SG ball teams but from other clubs recruited to start at our club from Flegg age.
That part I didn’t understand, was it an admission that our juniors weren’t good enough?
Apologies. I thought it was another 'we must be one club right the way through' argument.
Yes it partially is. But i would guess most clubs overhaul their roster going into flegg. It would be around this age that all the country kids, Queensland kids without a club and NZ/Pacific Island Kids would all be leaving home to enter professional system.

I do work in business, It's more obvious that you don't know your arse from your elbow.

If they weren't prioritising Moses, He'd be signed elsewhere
(Remember what happened when we didn't prioritise him)

The fact they got the kids deal done before him means nothing in the importance of a player in their squad or thinking.....
He's their senior Half, Goal Kicker and just took them to a grand final.

You assume he's not a priority - What do you do when he signs a mega deal to stay with them?
Still say he's not a priority?
Vitamin B and anti stress pills Batboy. Suggest you take a few before you have a heart attack.

Sounds very odd. They've known his demands for a long time. They haven't accommodated him. . Now suddenly they will?
we had a red hot go but Mitch will stay where he is. The immediate benefit is Parra pay maximum or more dollars which reduces their competitiveness for other players. I hope we do the same thing for Suaali and co.

The positive is it leaves a lot of cash to ensure if any of the kids look like being superstars, we get to keep them.

Realistically with improved forward pack and assuming someone like Feledy or Tupou step up to first grade standard to give us try scoring ability in the backline, we should run 8th to 10th spot.

Personally I hope we do not sign Sam Williams but rather bring on kids like Conti and/or Large and make do with what we have for now.

Brooks, Douehi, Staines & Laurie all playing for long term contracts , whether with us or elsewhere (if we want to keep them , we have the dollars).

Competitive borderline top 8 roster next season, with top 4 long term potential 2-3 year time frame.
I don’t understand ur logic, we spend a heap of cap buying KLEMMER , api , papa and maybe Bateman , and u want to throw a kid into the 1/2 roll so he can develop over the next couple of years , with this pack we need a gunn1/2 and get us into the finals so we can continue to build so these kids can come through, So are u not sick of waiting to make the finals because I am

Hi boys n girls, merry Christmas to all, haven't been on here for a while and don't hear much up here on the mid north coast, what's going on with bateman, any updates seems to be the longest negotiation in the history of the game
every indication is that Bateman is coming but the announcement is delayed due to a) him not being in the country yet, and want him there as part of the press conference when announced. b) salary cap still to be determined.
Whilst i think the above is likely, its not official until its official.

WTF are you talking about -
The original post was someone claiming that Brown was "Prioritised" Over Moses by the club and how Moses felt about that.... (Because Brown was signed first)

I claimed it an absurd assumption to make - Then the clown OPer claimed (further) That I don't work in business? Another stupid assumption....
Drawing from a discussion where the 2 points that couldn't possibly be further apart.

I stand by my point, The fact Browns deal was done prior to Moses - Has no relation to which player they see as a priority. Both players are different ages, Have different Managers - And ones manager has only just been re-instated (After being de-registered for shonky dealings at.... You guessed it - PARRA.)

Anything can stall a deal - To assume (And post) it's because the club wants one player more than the other..... Is a joke.
For starters it was an opinion. Mate ease up, take a chill pill, it’s Christmas is 6 days. Enjoy it.

no doubt the kids for the halves spot wont see first grade next season. But i would still rather keep our guns dry then panic buy because of pressure from fans; We been there done that Packer, Mbye etc. More short term pain , for long term sustainable finals footy.

Nobody knows what Mitch is doing apart from Mitc
Now that Dylan Brown has committed to stay with the Eels, It's a sure thing that Moses will stay and form a long standing partnership with Brown...Looks like the Eels have their men!.... for what its worth....Moses has NOT informed the WT of his decision yet
Might have there men but they won't have a premiership too soon.

wonder if we gave him a deadline or if he gave us one

Ok, I'll stop. I must have missed the second report and, yes, I'm a bit too trusting. As far as I'm concerned, that's good news, mainly because it means we're running a tight ship........finally. Sorry!

I may be in the minority here, but I think Brown re-signing would make it a better chance of Moses leaving Parra. If Brown went to Dolphins, all of a sudden, they increase their offer to make sure they don't lose both and that door is shut.

I'm not saying he won't re-sign. But with Brown sticking around, surely their offer to Moses is limited in how much they can give him. The 6 year player option screams desperation of a club giving a player everything they needed to keep him from leaving (maybe for fear of losing both?)

Everything is speculation no matter which way you look at it now. Hopefully soon there will be an official announcement one way or another that sorts it out and clubs can move on.
