Wow, we could probably do with an organising half back.
They're rare, I heard Newcastle scored one from a dumb club.

Why does everyone choose to remember 2012 and forget about 2005 and 2011I wouldn’t say Sheens has done a great job here yet.
He was somewhat responsible for the 22 spoon. He embarrassed the club with his decisions surrounding the coach - past, present and future. Sure he has signed a couple of guys, and gotten rid of the right players but he hasn’t proven anything as a coach here yet.
I’m intrigued about our chances in 23 but am also very apprehensive. I too remember the cluster that was 2012 and am not convinced he can do the job.
I got a good feeling we gonna party in 2023 likes it’s 2005. Happy new tiger year everyoneToo many forumers living in the past. The likes of Madge, Hastings etc are no longer here. Lets focus on the current side and how we get into that elusive top 8 again...
The supporters of coaches refer to their successes, the detractors focus on their failures. Why does everyone choose to remember 2012 and forget about 2005 and 2011

Don't forget Lui our halfback who was with us to two top 4 finishes getting sacked in the 2012 pre season after belting his missus, we were never the same after that.
yeah Nah Newcastle can have himWow, we could probably do with an organising half back.

Its not about what's best for him unfortunatelyYeh I'm sure he'll do what's best 4 him but you really see better opportunities outside WT for him?
Sheens saw enough when Noddy took over with the shackles off how weak the squad was - albeit with a high injury toll that certainly did not help. No coach was going to succeed at this club on the back of some talented juniors without strengthening the team. With full control and the coaches hat on it is pretty evident what has sparked his motivation.Yeh roster was the problem, also the coaches game plans and tactics were not not nrl standard. Madge is a great guy and I wish him all the best but we needed a change.
That Brisbane game this year was the one I took my young boys to as their first ever live game. So good to get that win.I'd like to get to the Qld games...rd5 v ponies at SC, rd 15 v titans at CBUS.
Good chance we'll beat those sides, We beat the broncs this year with a worse side than what we'll have next year. 🤞
Are you able to get to some games sleeve? Where are you?
Yeh I was there too. Did you go to the meet and greet the night before? That Brisbane game this year was the one I took my young boys to as their first ever live game. So good to get that win.
Hope we can do the same in 2023
My hopes are that finally with a good forward pack that can compete with the best of them, one or two of our existing backline options can spark attack and create tries. We also still have a vacant spot plus the possibility of trading one of the final 2023 year players as Sheens mentioned to add further options.Off season is the domain of the happy clapper.
This time last year plenty were yelling season 2022 was going to be a huge success.
For mine, season 2023 looks promising bar 3 important factors…
1. Lack of leadership especially on field. No controlling halves, no general.
2. X factor type strike. We have no Marshal / Farah / Tedesco quality of freak player who can setup points out of nothing.
3. Coaching staff. Mostly green or possibly well over cooked.
We require at least 2 of these issues to become a positive to play finals footy. I can’t see an emerging X Factor so we need Brooks/Doueihi to stand up and lead and we need Sheens to turn back the clock.
Tyson Gamble from Brisbane.Wow, we could probably do with an organising half back.

Madge signed that entire 2022 rosterIf Sheens thought the roster was good enough - now he has the job of getting the wins - he wouldnt be so activlely trying to rebuild it.
The roster was always the problem - the coach is just the easiest target.
I hope that our forward pack can in fact "compete with the best of them" because i think whilst it is brilliant compared to last year's pack it's still a long way off being a top tier NRL pack.My hopes are that finally with a good forward pack that can compete with the best of them, one or two of our existing backline options can spark attack and create tries. Roll on 2023 season and hopefully better times for WT.
He was here when they were signed, But:Madge signed that entire 2022 roster
Ok
Madge was part of a recruitment ‘panel’
How much was JTJ, Tamou etc signed for $150,000 & $250,000 ??
Sheens answers to no one as he is also head of football
What dollars is Sheens playing with ??
Bateman $700,000 (guess)
Klemmer $750,000 +
(balance of newcastle contract in 2023)
Ferrari $500,000
(balance of Penrith contract for 2023)
Moses $1.25 mill (possible)
Sheens has been sacked from his last 3-4 clubs because of his ‘leadership’. If there is improvement in 2023 it will mainly be because of the cattle, the cattle able to be bought with the cap space available.
We will never know what Madge could have done with recruitment with all this available money, he was sacked by the new coach 🙄, the new coach because he failed to get Ciraldo
He also dumped Noddy in a no win situation by releasing players and telling anyone that would listen (including the current players) he was mainly aiming for 2025 - 2022 season over
Sheens is not the Messiah, just someone who has the coaching position at the most opportune time to buy quality cattle
But I’m hopeful despite my opinion that the tigers have a great year 🤞for all the supporters who watched the debacle overseen by sheens last year
Madge was crap. Get over it. He'll go down in history alongside Jason Taylor and Terry Lamb as our all time worst coaches
