2005 final against saints

They had qualified 2 weeks earlier didn't play the week before I think... Their fans got a head start on the tix too... it was 75/25 them/is... Atmosphere that night better than the following week.

That style of footy high ball movement will see a lot of errors until it's prefected... Which takes time

Did you get tix to the granny?

I missed out!!!! And I worked for Ticketek at the time! Gutted

I remember halatau had his best game and then me and my mates had to play him in touch footy at timbrell park a few weeks later and we complained to the touch comp that we had to play first graders and we were in high school. They had Benj; halatau; bron harrison and his brother and they would pump us 30 tries to like 2

Halatau gets no love.
One of the most underrated players of all time.

Outstanding guy.

It was an unforgettable game. Teared up every time we scored and a little blubber for joy at the end.

Watched it at home and enjoyed every second of it demolishing an excellent bottle of wine (Shiraz) and a couple of glasses of Port.

Lucky enough to pick one up on here from a Tigers supporter living in Brisbane.

Outside Homebush I met some Parra supporters who had been to every GF for over 30 years. Showed me how to get into the members without the right ticket. Spent the night watching from there. 🙂

I was at the Dragons semi as an 18th birthday present. I went with my uncle. We copped heaps of abuse as we walked in. I reckon it was only 1 in 10 supporters were Wests Tigers. We were sat with a small pocket of our mob and we screamed the stadium down. Best fan/crowd experience of my life. We felt part of the game that night.

I backed it up the following week with a bucks party to the GF. It was also a great night, but more a celebration. It was a party. We were all blind, hugging strangers, singing songs and having fun. Very different to the week previous which was a battle.

my ticket I bought from a scalper cost $750 on the 50m line and the ticket had St George vs TBA so they had bought it when they first qualified.
In comparison 50m ticket for the GF was $450

I’m interested to know what the Grand final was like at the stadium. So sad I missed out on tickets

Yes
Went with my son & @Suzie-Q & her daughter.
I had a crappy old Canon computer at the time didn't trust it with tiketek online... So.camped out at Castle Hill ticketek... Got there about 1am before they went on sale, was 11th in line.... We had a game of cricket going by 2am 🤣

The day was a bit of a blur for me...very stressed and worried at times during the game... Remember it being very hot during the lower grades... We were sitting in the corner directly where benji & big patty were heading.

Headed over to Wests Ashfield and then Balmain LC that night... Didn't go in either just soaking up the atmosphere... Victoria Rd was closed by the time we got there... Home about 2am and still too wound up to sleep so watched the replay twice... Got some sleep at about 6 am... Insane day will never forget it

Tigers wanted to move the final to ANZ but St George protested and wouldn’t let it be moved as they knew that their supporters had most of the tickets already.
They got what they deserved in the end.
