despite how you may feel about Hastings leaving, this is a terrible take. One dud half is on a reserve grade contract and the other is on a train and trial. Neither were signed as, or should be considered, Hastings replacement.

Who does everyone honestly expect we sign as a backup half? Moses? Hunt? An elite player isn’t going to come be a backup half to Brooks & AD lol especially not a club that just got the spoon. I think everyone needs to be a bit more realistic.

Lawry looks to be a 6. he has also only played a trial. well credentialed but let's not hang our hat on him. Alex Conti and Alex Isdale are the two halfbacks coming through that will be the long term options providing they develop properly, with Isdale the likelier of the two due to his combination with Large.

I watched about 8 of his games last year. He didn’t seem to do a lot whenever I watched him but Flegg always had better results when he played. Might be a good organiser because the team lost direction when he wasn’t there. He played some reserves later in the year and looked out of his depth to me but that team was terrible. Too early to give up on him but he definitely needs to bulk up. He’s built like a wet piece of spaghetti.
