Koroisau to captain Wests Tigers

Personally would have liked Joffa to get the nod, always seemed like he was leading the pack every game and undoubtedly had his best season to date. Also seems he genuinely loves putting the jersey on, wore it with respect compared to some other players on the team. But Api is a good choice. 4 grand finals, 3 wins and rep experience, hard to argue with that tho.
Joffa or AD would be Captain while Api has a rest. Whoever gets it would be a good chance for them even if it is just for 20 minutes.

Jedi, the captain does little in the game, take a kick or not? Argue with the ref call. Many can do this, but the main job is to inspire his team, and to kick arse when needed, you don't have to play 80 minutes. Wingers play 80 minutes, but are to remote from the play to influence the game. Klem or Joff could hold the fort i imagine.
Depends on the captain doesn't it

Cameron Smith or Wally Lewis could intimidate referees ......getting two 50/50 calls go the right way (our way ) can turn the modern game so easily

Great choice. Said all the right things as a captain in the video on the website.

I liked the interview. Was level head.

His leadership style answer was he will lead from the front which is exactly what we need as captain. If he performs at a high standard & stays injury free we will win a fair share of games.

Probably a great guy but not a real LEADER.
Was the best of a bad bunch last year but seems to attract more attention than I think he deserves.
Hopefully will be strong off the bench for us. He jumped in and signed early last year for security, not because he was being seen as dynamic.

If he’s fit, he’s pretty much a guaranteed starter.

Can’t see the lock spot going to anyone else other than him or Matamua, and I doubt Matamua will get it now.

Will be interesting to see the team-list today (especially because Joffa has been injured recently).

So the Prop first and foremost talk is all a smokescreen ??

I don’t think so, if he’s named as lock it will only be until Bateman gets here, then the pack will be finalised. And I can’t see Joffa being the regular 13.
Bateman's best spot is second row ...lets not try turning strengths into weaknesses that are more readily likely to get more niggly injuries and take away from his attack out wide

I'd prefer Twal or Jo O in the 13 myself ...that's just me

Personally I think that was more relevant when Hastings was here and we had the option of a ball playing lock. Matamua is probably that player as well but I don't think he is ready.

I didn’t necessarily mean Bateman to 13, just that I didn’t think it would be Joffa.

But who else do you see being the starting #13 then?

I genuinely see the only two realistic options in the roster as Joffa and Matamua.

I have always believed that the person you make captain will help benefit the team and themselves if it makes them a better leader / role model across the board

I think we will get the best from Koroisau no matter whether he is the captain or not ...and I believe you'd get the same if say Twal or Bateman were made captain

It might help klemmer become a better on field strength and cut out any rubbish that might exist in his game ...but you lose him for 20 minutes every game

But the lack of leadership at the club makes me think it might be the right short term decision

The only other 2 you'd think about are Douehi or Brooks but if they are only 1 year options then you keep coming back to Api Koroisau

Can still remember the words of our school captain ....."Do as I do ...not as I say "
