LIVE GAME Trial 2: vs. Raiders

Live Game Discussion
Fair play. Just don’t like the act of laying the slipper into our players, especially local juniors. We don’t want to be like bulldogs Supporters! I am all for constructive criticism on players performance, but continuously hammering players like Nofa and brooks just makes us out to be a bunch of shit supporters! Support our own.
In supporting our players we also should support the coaching staff employed by the CLUB to do his job...If his performance isnt up to scratch then we as supporters can voice our opinion in a respectful manner just as you say we should to our players...laying the boot in doesnt just apply to the players,it probably hurts just as much laying it into the coaching staff...
I clearly remember the fallout that came with Sheens being sacked years ago,but Im willing to see how he goes this time, especially with tutoring Benji to fill the role..
I said it before,we can all have a critique at someone at anytime, but remaining respectful is always the key to good discussion...

Laurie I believe to be one of our best. The forwards all worked hard and I was very pleased for Jake S.

We need all our players firing and they are responding to the challenge which creates pleasant selection issues.
Tons of respect for Dane Laurie,

Very Dangerous in attack, Tried hard and puts his body on the line.

I think we will see the real impact behind some structure and a good forward pack

the first thing that I noticed is how well Sheens has developed these players in just the one preseason. imagine what these boys look like with (hopefully) a full season and another preseason. credit to Moussa and his staff for getting the side in shape as well, haven't looked this fit in a long time.

Simpkin was our best yesterday for mine. picked his moments brilliantly, tackled everything that moved and was great to see him thread the needle for Matamua to score.

Doueihi has learnt to control his bombs and his long kicking game has gone to another dimension. the 40/20 was proof of that. also was far better in terms of going deeper into the line to create space for his outside men, ala for Blore who set up Staines.

Talau and Naden are different players, but both looked great in attack. Talau runs lines and breaks tackles at will with early ball. Naden will suck in two defenders and flick the ball out. clearly been working on their strengths for the last few months.

Twal's developed an offload. Blore can pass(!). Kepaoa has come along in leaps and bounds. Klemmer has become a link man. excited to see what he's managed to do for Brooks and Ofahengaue come Round 1.

Sheens post match has said Ken will miss start of the year. Same knee he injured as last year. Not season ending but he will miss some time.

He did make a slip of the tongue re Api, sounds like Api is at risk of starting the season. He had high praise for Jake.

Did he mention if it was still the calf injury? that's some big news if Api wont be starting.

Calling our coaches 'suckholes' isn't what I'd call respectful

I didnt call the coaches suck holes ""the people within the club such as board, admin etc"" that think they know everything but know nothing....get it right Ink before you post disrespsctfully...why not ask me to clarify my post before being a tad sarcastic...

I agree with all the positive things said. How good was that ? !
It was good to see Blore back, fit and strong.
I just love the way he smashes someone, or stops them dead in their tracks and looks down at them with pure contempt. Like Ron Swanson would look at a 6 yr old kid trying to steal his shoes.

Yea hard to argue. Pascoe is a suck hole. Not sure what it means but if it ends in hole I think it fits.

Just re watched the game jakey Simpkin played so well, u can see in games like that one why we picked him up as a younger kid! With api and Robbie both there the sky is the limit for him imo. Also jr tupou is something special can’t wait to watch his growth and see him play in his preferred position of centre later on down the track. Such a talent! I don’t read much into trials but going of the way we defended for each other is a massive boost in confidence before the season!
