If a professional rugby league club has $1.4m per season to spend on a player the options SHOULD BE almost endless. That’s my issue with where our club has been positioned. The bottom. And your short list is ???

I agree - I want a fullback more than a half (Not many of those kicking around either)

I think there was more to the Moses chase than just that. Sure, a good player/point scorer but a foil for Brooks, Doueihi etc as well as an old boy of the club.If a professional rugby league club has $1.4m per season to spend on a player the options SHOULD BE almost endless. No way will Brooks get 800-900k.Honestly if the price is 600K, Done.
Were probably going to be talking 800-900 min. That's where it becomes iffy.
600k depth, unsure who is coming up in the lower grades but IMHO that's Luke Brooks market price.
A big element of recruitment is knowing the future. Guys like Teddy, Suallii, Burton, etc. you can tell from game 10 they are superstars. That’s where we need to be digging.I agree - I want a fullback more than a half (Not many of those kicking around either)
Just don't agree Suali is that - Yet....
Has his moments on the wing, But has plenty missing from his game to be a top line fullback
Passing / Kicking and such - Especially in a rebuilding team such as us.
My thoughts on it were Doueihi would go to FB if we got Moses...
Weather that was the intention or not I don't know.
We’re riding with Brooks which isn’t all that bad if we keep improving the team.We won't replace him for 750k....
They had the list of off contract halves on Sen this morning...
It's pretty grim.
No way will Brooks get 800-900k.
750k max.
I can’t see Teddy leaving the Rortsters. The talk about suaallii taking his job is way too premature. He’s one of the best in the game if not the best. The way he gets involvements is unmatched. I’d love to get him back though.I was also "hoping" having Moses might also help to lure Tedesco back....
I know it's a long bow to draw, But regardless of how anyone involved feels, The Roosters have an issue looming there and Tedesco to us - Would really help them out there.
I stand by they'll move him as soon as it's necessary, Captain or not
- Did it to Pearce, Anasta, - Retired Cordner and Friend...
Reckon Moses to 7 for us would have helped us get him back...
Have also felt he might also have a slight desire to come home and make good...
All feelings and hopes and dreams of course.....
We've not had much else....
All of the above would tie us over and keep us competitive until the next crop comes through...
Also make us more appealing to other recruits and improve or value and buy prices.
I don't see Suaalii taking his job,
I see Suaalii taking Manus and Manu taking Teddys....
And then Suaalii taking Manus in a few years...
That's not even considering whatever they may have coming through....
all involve transfer fees and the clubs have to release themThere's options to target. Dodd from St Helens, Williams at Wigan, Pezet at Storm
Anything to get our King James back to the Good Guys🙂I can’t see Teddy leaving the Rortsters. The talk about suaallii taking his job is way too premature. He’s one of the best in the game if not the best. The way he gets involvements is unmatched. I’d love to get him back though.
Forget Mitch Moses, we already let Lachlan Ilias slip through the cracks. He had a tough start to his career, but by the end of last year with Latrell in his side, he was looking class.anyone who thinks the club are going to sign a halfback between the ages of 19-23 after this is deluded. they will not block the pathways of the juniors.
with a far better forward pack, an attack-minded coaching staff and his confidence returning I think we’ll see a far improved version of Luke Brooks. IF that goes to plan, he steers the ship for 2-3 more years and then either Conti or Isdale take the seven jersey and partner Large in the halves long term.
the best plan B at this point (if Brooks fails) would be George Williams on a three year deal, but do not expect Ethan Sanders, Jonah Pezet, Lewis Dodd or Thomas Duffy to head to concord if it doesn’t work out when Isdale and Conti (in particular) are tearing up junior reps as we speak. the club won’t allow for another Mitchell Moses to slip through the cracks.
Mate it's a contract year. Remember last time it was contract year for him? 2018 Dally M Halfback of the year. Don't be surprised if he somehow remembers how to play like he used to. And if he does, he'll probably command that sort of coin or more.No way will Brooks get 800-900k.
750k max.
Brooks will probably cost 800k or 850k question is if you want a shorter contract e.g 2 years you probably have to pay slightly more.No way will Brooks get 800-900k.
750k max.
Hawkins is the pick of the 7's at southsForget Mitch Moses, we already let Lachlan Ilias slip through the cracks. He had a tough start to his career, but by the end of last year with Latrell in his side, he was looking class.
Its a small sample size i know, hope we have fast cooks coz the odds are better in Sheens may have unearth another good FB 🤞 than our wishful thinking of landing the likes of Manu, Suaalii & coAnd you’re basing that on what …. couple of reserve grade appearances and a pre season talk up by Sheens & coaching staff?
Long way to go before that chicken is cooked I’m afraid.
Also fought his way out of the Bronco’sTBH, I really don't understand why you didn't go for Albert Kelly. That guy is DESPERATE to prove he belongs in the NRL. He's always had talent. But his professionalism was lacking for many years. He fought his way into the Broncos first team and deserved his spot. Then he got injured and they dumped him. I don't know what the Dolphins are paying Kelly - but I'd say it's a far better investment than Brooks over the short term while you find a younger player.
