I realise I’ll get bashed for saying this, but I really believe that if Brooks is working behind a strong pack and given license to fail he is in the top 4 halves.

I struggle to express the same high level of optimism, but certainly expect him to get a lot of his mojo back under a very different coaching structure. Hope to see him excel again, by being released to be able to play more of his natural game.

Poignant words by Koroisau in his recent interview when talking about how Cleary coached to the players strengths in forming his game plans. This season it will likely be a similar to his tenure, so up to Brooks to bring back his 2018 form.

We will have some idea on Sunday. Brooks now has some quality edge forwards and some speed outside. Not to mention some middles who can play, know the value of getting to their front to give Api some time and like throwing a pebble in the lake, that time and space follows the ball across the backline. 😁

Her didnt play well last night watch the jurno's pile on with contract negs are a distraction to Parra's season, the pressure on him to put pen to paper where ever just ratcheted up a few notches.
With 5 to go Moses was in position for a snap at field goal they went to Brown who fluffed it spectacularly. I still reckon he signs with Parra i dont know why he's dragging it out, you want 5 yrs sign with us you're happy with 4 sign with Parra simples.

Pays his license renewal each year. Yes, his license read Class E in 2018 but he's been on auto for a while....

Lots of noise and lots of touches doesn't always mean lots of quality....
He actually didn't win us any games outside maybe the dogs game.

Absolutely spot on. Lots of noise and lots of touches means predictability. Shut him down shut down WT.

Let's face it for several seasons now the rest of the NRL has known that if you shut down Brooks you shut down WT. Substitute Hastings for Brooks, with the same predictable game plan, and bugger me if you don't get the same results. If Hastings is looking at getting as many touches for Newcastle as he did for us they will be just as one dimensional and will fight Saints for the spoon.

This has a lot to do with why Brooks' performances have been sub-standard. Now we have strike in the middle and the edges, if AD steps up (still a big if) and Brooks is able to run, we are no longer one dimensional. With second phase play, enabled by good structure, as part of the strategy we should surprise a few teams this year.

I think Hastings (and others) was flat for us in 22 with our board undermining the coach. You could see he was playing without purpose toward the end of season. His game will grow at the Knights imo.
