Hey everyone 👋🏽

It’s been years since I’ve posted on here and some members may remember me or not from the earlier forum days. (basically same username but can’t seem to access my old account 😂 damn shame…)

I still check in to read the forum posts but today, I would like to my thoughts on here.

So! I digress, Today was the case of not being shown up by the opponent, this was our team being shown up by their own errors and sub par performance. I guess the only thing consistent since 2011 but today’s performance has surely got to be up there was the worst. Didn’t think the loss right at FT last season at the Gold Coast could take the cake but I stand corrected!

I have to ask…

Is it too much to get a forum between us fans, members, the board, the captain and coaching staff? I just feel that the fans’ voices needed to be heard, it’s the least that can be done, surely?

Our team hasn’t seen finals footy since 2011 and yet, the prices of tickets to our home games or memberships seem to rise, why? What justifies the increase or high prices to support a team that doesn’t match it.

Where is this flair in attack supposed to come from? From what I’ve seen, the team seems so stagnant, not supporting enough, not looking enthused out there…

What are the coaches and management seeing that we aren’t when it comes to Brooks? Nothing personally on the guy but he needs a fresh start elsewhere and we do from him. Has he failed us or have we failed him? Is it both ways? But every moment of something that may be great (which today was the break) there’s a raft of errors riddled in his game. It’s beyond chances now. When he was sidelined, the team turned it around, was that just coincidence last season? What are our options? Is Wakefield the solution?

I’m also not convinced on Daine Laurie, he’s shown flashes of being brilliant in open plays but I feel he gets handled too easy when running the ball back because of his physical stature and that leads me to wondering…

Do we have any juniors to bring up? Is there someone we can make a play for coming off contract cause while we recruited well, we still have some way to go and that is identifying a fullback and solid halves to build on (depending on Doueihi)

Brooks needs to be dropped immediately. He has been the one constant in our sorry era. It's just not there. Full stop. He's never been the guy, he isn't the guy and won't be the guy. He doesn't start for any other team in the league and any other team would've gotten rid of him way sooner. Look at how quickly the Titans got rid of Ash Taylor, who at his peak was actually pretty good for a season or two. We've been hamstrung by Brooks for 9 years lol.

Nofoaluma has to be dropped too. Once a great player and a great clubman, but past it now. Doesn't have the speed or burst he used to and the crabbing across field sideways is pathetic.

That's 2 changes to start. There's other issues, but persisting with these two (and especially Brooks) is just insanity and shows nothing but a commitment to losing.

The relationship is well beyond its best before date. I’d like to ask Sheens, what convinced him that Brooks was the guy. What’s Brooks doing at training that has convinced Sheens and the managers before him to select him. It’s a real head scratcher. More than the constant Sheens selection of Daniel Fitzhenry back in the day. Good times..

I also agree on Nofoaluma, not the same anymore and could benefit from a change of scenery too. Guy seem chuffed to be in Melbourne, could’ve stayed there and I’d be fine with it.

It’s only 2 games but man it could get grim if the club doesn’t swallow their pride and make the hard decisions. Players need to be dropped and others need to be given a chance cause at the least, it gives us hope that the club is trying something other than just recruit.
 
You bring up a lot of good points, and rightfully so.

The Luke Brooks thing, I've back the guy for years, in hope that the persistence pays off. But his lack of intelligence, even football intelligence, is going to get this club nowhere.

I seem to think the players are trying too hard to bring a win individually, not cohesively, and that is hurting them in the long run.

Success comes as a whole, not individually. Even the new signings that have come in, think they're here to inject the "winner" instinct, rather than just play to your abilities, not over to prove your worth.

They need accountability. They need U/6 skills - follow the ball carrier, chase the kick, tackle the dude on the other team with the ball ...

It's going to be a bloody long season 😪

Rest easy my friend.
The boys are doing 200 passes a day and the juniors coming through are the best Sheens has ever seen.
 
I'm struggling to see anything positive after today. So many opportunities that we just screw up over and over again. I really think we are a doomed club/franchise. I Wish people hated usfor being competitive, but most people just laugh and feel sorry for us. This team is pathetic and someone has to make these guys accountable once and for all or we fold the club up and leave it in the bowels of sporting history.
 
Liddles performance today was twice that of Korisau and shows just how beneficial a change of scenery can be for some players... The club has failed Brooks and all the players... So many move on and shine yet others come here and are dragged down to our crap level

That's the frustrating thing ... why? Why do ours go on to bigger and better at other clubs,but our recruits fall to our rubbish?

We are definately playing worse than last year with a better roster than we had in 2022.The season is far from over but adjustments from the coaching/selection staff need to be made urgently.This crap we are being served up at the moment is diabolical

Yeah. Klemmer had 83mtrs lowest for ages and least out of our forwards. Api had a shocker and Papa was ineffective.

Staines I guess didn’t do anything bad but plenty of time to see him come down a few levels.
 
I just cant understand the garbage we have put up with for years now as a JV....2 great foundation clubs joined as one,2 fantastic tough,hard working clubs that cant get it together as one...Forget the Maggies against the Tigers crap,we are one,the trouble is over the years the higher ups from each side want to do what they want to do and therein lies the problem...
Get professional Administrators in and turn this place into what it should be a professional NRL football side that competes week in week out.doesnt have favourites in that think they can do what they like when they like,takes the members and fans into consideration instead of for granted...
